You may remember that LG added G-Sync Compatible support for a couple of their 2019 OLED TVs at the end of last year. It was only available on select models, however (the 55in and 65in B9 and E9 models and the 55in, 65in and 75in C9), and involved manually updating the TV’s firmware before you could take advantage of its newfound variable refresh rate technology. Thankfully, LG’s 2020 crop of OLED TVs will be G-Sync Compatible from the outset, offering tear-free gaming in your living room that’s (comparatively) hassle-free....

As Blizzard previously mentioned, the opening ceremony kicks off at 10pm GMT on Friday, February 19th. After that, you can break out into any of the six channels that Blizzard will be running for the event. The main Blizzard channel looks like it’ll be hitting the high points by going over what’s next in WoW, Diablo, and a behind the scenes look at Overwatch 2 developmnet. Each of those three series—and also Hearthstone—have their own channels with more specific programming like talks with voice actors and Q&A sessions with the developers....

On Friday, Tripwire president John Gibson, posted a statement on Twitter supporting Texas’ barbaric new abortion law, which bans people from having abortions after six weeks of pregnancy (or when cardiac activity is detected). Private individuals can also enforce the law, and earn a bounty of at least $10,000 for successfully suing those who provide or aid people seeking abortions. “While your politics are your own, the moment you make them a matter of public discourse you entangle all of those working for and with you,” Shipwright said in a response to Gibson....

Here’s a trailer that briefly covers everything new that’s coming. The Financial Districts mini-expansion will arrive on December 13th and adds 104 new assets, including bank buildings, a new district specialisation with its own visual style, and various tweaks to your city’s tax system. On the same day, there will also be a new content creator Map Pack from community creator Sidai which will add 10 new maps representing different biomes, including Boreal, Desert and Tropical themes....

You can spot all that rootin’ tootin’ roguelike shootin’ in Voidigo’s trailer down below. It’s certainly got shades of Nuclear Throne or maybe Enter The Gungeon in it. Sure enough, it has different types of weapons and powerups and dodging through huge sprays of bullets. Voidigo’s real focus is apparently on the boss fights though, which they describes in a way that gives me flashbacks to Monster Hunter World as much as anything else....

But removed isn’t always the same as gone, and exploring Steam’s deleted items is an adventure through modern gaming history. I spoke to some developers of delisted games to find out more. You can see every game ever delisted from Steam at Steam Tracker which, at the time of writing, has over 3,800 entries, also including retail-only Steam keys and pre-order exclusives. That’s not including the games that have been banned from Steam, some 4,200 of which you can see using madjoki’s Steam Tools....

As expected, ApeLegs won’t just be tossing mouse-and-keyboard warriors into console players’ games. Rather, it sounds like we’ll only see console folks if they’re brought into our hornet’s nest by one of their Origin pals. The Apex Legends blog goes into full details on how, exactly, the crossplay beta will work. By default, Xbox and PS4 players will now be matched within the same pool, with PC players kept separate “for reasons that should be obvious”....

When Paradox Interactive’s medieval strategy game launched on September 2nd, it didn’t come out in Australia because the Classification Board outright refused it a rating, effectively banning it. While no one’s really sure what went wrong, fortunately it all seems to be resolved now. Kotaku Australia reported on the classification confusion earlier last week. Then on Friday, Paradox said the Classification Board has given CK3 an MA15+ rating (thanks, Kotaku Australia)....

Paradox explained the decision via a post on their forums (which was also posted to Steam). “Royal Court is not only the first expansion for CK3, but it will also propose a set of features entirely new to the CK series, including cultural evolution and language. It is very much breaking new ground, and as such, we are experimenting at every turn,” reads the post. “With that in mind we are not, at the moment, entirely satisfied with Royal Court’s progress, especially regarding its stability....

“An unidentified actor gained unauthorised access to our internal network, collected certain data belonging to CD Projekt capital group, and left a ransom note the content of which we release to the public,” CDPR posted this morning. “Although some devices in our network have been encrypted, our backups remain intact. We have already secured our IT infrastructure and begun restoring the data.” The ransom note claims the hackers have “dumped full copies of the source codes from the Perforce server for Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Gwent and the unreleased version of Witcher 3”....

The tweet announcing the next stream says they’ll also be discussing “Refused’s transformation into Samurai!”, who in case you weren’t aware, are a Swedish punk rock band who will be making some of the game’s music. Still, the thing I’m most looking forward to is more info on those aforementioned life path. Right now we know that there are going to be three to choose from in Cyberpunk 2077 - Street Kid, Nomad and Corpo....

It’s become a law of the land these days that big open world games come with a photo mode for stopping the action and taking artistic shots of their huge environments. As they do, Cyberpunk’s version has a slew of features for changing a shot’s exposure or contrast or depth of field. There are stickers and effects and frames, oh my! What I want to talk about though are the poses....

Little Hope seems to have a sort of after school special vibe to it. “Abandoned and all alone, four college students and their teacher become stranded in an isolated town miles from anywhere after their bus crashes in bad weather,” Supermassive Games say. “Trapped by a mysterious fog in the town of Little Hope, they search desperately for a means of escape whilst visions from the past haunt them from the shadows....

Stasis is to be a whole new fourth element, joining Arc, Solar, and Void as both a weapon damage type and new elemental subclasses. It’s ice, basically. But magic ice, from space. It’s still not entirely clear how or why we’ll be wielding Stasis, beyond the fact that the Darkness have a hand in it, but I’m game. Also, I think it’s just a casting animation rather than a weapon, but I am well into the Warlock busting out a magical staff to ice some baddies....

Witherhoard is an Exotic breech-loaded grenade launcher for your kinetic shot, which uses Special ammo. It fires big gloops of Taken blight, dealing damage over time in a fairly big area if it hits the ground or if it hits an enemy it’ll go inside, deal DoT, then spawn a blight when they die. Even when merely working as intended, Witherhoard (known affectionately as Blighting Lion to devotees of Destiny’s best gun) is decent....

Destiny 2’s growing noodle movement was spotted by The Gamer, reporting on a movement of players to whom the useless item holds extreme sentimental value. The thing is, the expired ramen coupon was added as part of a Forsaken pre-release quest. Cayde-6, Destiny 2’s sassy Nathan Fillion android, would send you off to grab an order from the Tower’s ramen shop - and while the ticket was long expired, you’d get a nice bit of flavour text from the robot, an ode to the spicy dish....

Devotion is a first-person spooker set within the confines of a Taiwanese apartment building during the 1980s. Spooky things are afoot, and they are good. Our Devotion review said: “Devotion thrives on subtleties and, aside from a few twitchy apparitions that jump at you, cheap scares are few and far between; it would rather get under the player’s skin by cultivating a quietly disconcerting ambience.” But I never got to see that to myself because of the controversy caused by a scrap of paper in that apartment....

The honey-loving cartoon bear, yeah. I can think of worse things to be compared to, but A.A. Milne’s blonde bear is a touchy subject for the Chinese head of state.
