Remember, whenever you play an Invoke card, Galakrond’s Fury is triggered, so it’s worth playing Invokes aggressively to take down enemy minions. Ubisoft Australia aren’t creating incentives for players to donate however, instead they’ve simply donated $30,000 AUD (about £16,000) to the Australian Red Cross and Recovery Relief Fund. “We’ve heard the calls requesting we create in-game items to encourage donations, however this takes considerable development time and we feel immediate action is required,” they posted on Twitter. Infinity Ward haven’t specified a charity, but in a Tweet they announced 100% of Activision’s profits from the newly-renamed “Outback Relief” packs in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare will be donated towards the relief effort....

Set 10 years before the events of the very first Gears Of War game, you’d be forgiven for thinking this’d have more in common with the alien-sniping fun of XCOM than the big, boot-stompin’ FPS action of the Gears games. But in his excellent video, Matthew explains why Tactics will win hearts among both long term XCOM fans and die-hard Fenix stans alike. Get Paradise Killer and 11 more in this month’s Humble Choice If you’ve not played Paradise Killer, it is good. And weird! But very very good. Alice B described it as a ’neon-saturated open-world murder mystery set on a tropical island in a different reality’, and I think that’s about as good a summary as you’re going to find. Oh, and the soundtrack is incredible too. The Surge 2 is another highlight if you’re a fan of the Souls-like games, particularly those set in a sci-fi city setting....

Beyond that, I know that it’s a strategy RPG, and I know that it’s out on PC as of today. Here’s the Steam announcement trailer (because the PC launch trailer is only 30 seconds long): I like that the extremely dramatic music includes singing “Triangle Strategy” in the lyrics. Beyond how it looks, there’s plenty that sounds interesting as a fan of strategy RPGs and the likes of Fire Emblem....

By the end of my seven hours with Grapple Dog, I wanted to strangle the bastard with his own goddamn hook. We started off on much better terms. Sure, it was immediately clear that he’d never move with quite the same precision as a Meat Boy or a Celeste, and yes, I felt it when I targeted robotic goons to jump on. Hopping between platforms felt fine, though, the wider targets calling for less meticulous degrees of control - and besides, I was busy getting acquainted with the grappling hook....

Sources at Rockstar told Bloomberg that GTA 6 is codenamed Project Americas, because the game was originally intended to have a map that covered “territories modeled after large swaths of North and South America”. In 2021, rumours were circulating that the next GTA would be set in a modern take on Vice City. Well, the Bloomberg report corroborates this. It’s nothing that Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier hasn’t already intimated on Twitter before but, interestingly, shrinking the map down to the series’ fictional Miami was apparently a compromise to try to improve Rockstar’s working culture....

It’s impossible to view regularly, though. Only by activating cheats and enabling noclip can you view the tasty fruit, flying through the window to rummage in a stranger’s shopping bag. But when compared to fruit of Half-Life past, Alyx’ melon disappoints....

In this month’s Inside Infinite, campaign art lead Justin Dinges says that 343’s art direction is focused on themes of “legacy” and “simplicity”. “We really want players to feel like they are experiencing a game that they remember fondly (Halo: Combat Evolved), but with modernized graphics of course,” Dinges says. “Another good example is how we have taken the visual design of the Jackals and Grunts back closer to their appearance in Halo 3 and previous titles....

But Shipbreaker relishes in how much that still makes you somebody. Shipbreaking is a tough gig. Floating through zero gravity, it’s your job to strip apart derelict spacecraft, carefully processing their individual components to be recycled, reused or incinerated....
