It sounds like it’s not a simple change, however. “There have been two decades’ worth of code and content crafted with the assumption that parties can only have players of a single faction, and while we want to make this feature available as soon as possible, the extent of the change means that it couldn’t be ready in time for the upcoming Eternity’s End content update....

Yesterday’s reel of trailers and developer interviews was just the first in a series of monthly video events that Xbox have planned for the rest of the year which they’re calling “Xbox 20/20.” Xbox originally announced the event saying that the May edition would focus on “a first look at next-gen gameplay, trailers and sneak peeks.” They specifically touted Valhalla as a big-name participant in the showcase. Since we were already up to our ears in trailers and sneak peeks of Valhalla, I suppose folks were hoping to see more of viking protagonist Eivor sneaking and slashing in a less trailer-y context....

You may well be intimately familiar with Nox - there’s a community that still keeps it working on modern machines, and creates mods for it. Open-source Flash Player emulator Ruffle has supported older versions of the Flash programming language, ActionScript, for a while but was unable to play stuff games made in ActionScript 3. Ruffle is a nice emulator because websites can embed it, meaning folks can just click on a link and start playing. Some other Flash emulators require installing a browser plugin. Now, Ruffle is finally introducing partial AS3 support, which will hopefully make many more ’newer’ Flash games and things easy to see again....

“New extreme exploits have appeared allowing cheaters to remotely add/remove/modify your stats and permanently corrupt your account aka ban/delete,” tweeted Tez2. “Avoid playing without a firewall rule or playing at all!” GTA Online players on the game’s subreddit began to call for a mass reporting of the exploits to Rockstar over the weekend. A glance at Rockstar’s Support site shows that players are following through with that call. “The exploit is partial remote code execution,” Tez2 claimed in another tweet....

Oddly, this doesn’t seem to have affected Amelia and your motley circus troupe, who venture out into London’s dangerous streets to find answers....

A physical edition of Stardew Valley for PC has been teased for a little while now, but the official announcement came last night via developer Eric Barone and Fangamer. This new physical version has Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition flavours to choose from, and the latter comes with a whole bunch of stuff. If you’re willing to pay the extra $35, you’ll get, amongst other things, a special box with art by Kari Fry (the artist who illustrated the often out of stock Stardew Valley Guidebook), a little comic called Junimo’s Day Out, and a chonky standee made from birch and cherry wood....

With Ed bed ridden, it’s up to Dr. Julia Lomas, psychologist and psychiatrist, and Sheriff Nick Reyes to unravel the mystery of what really happened, and whether Faye and his daughter even exist....

This is Amnesia’s first sortie into open-world exploration, and Frictional say you’ll have to keep a close watch for an “ever-present threat” lurking around the bunker’s corners. You’ll play as a French soldier with amnesia – natch – who has only a noisy dynamo torch, and a revolver loaded with a single bullet, to rely on. I’m a bit cautious about this one, because the appalling reality of daily life for soldiers in the trenches of the war could easily impinge on the supernatural horror that The Bunker’s aiming for....

Our buds at Eurogamer report that the five-year-old build of Dead Island 2 allegedly surfaced out of internet trashcan 4Chan. The outlet has since verified that the copy is legit, a claim reinforced by EA Dice game designer (and former Yager employee) Jan David Hassel on Twitter. As Hassel alludes, this build of Dead Island 2 is sourced from shortly before Yager ceased work on the game in 2015. The devs parted ways with publishers Deep Silver later that year, who handed development over to Sumo Digital....

Now, Annapurna don’t directly name Covid-19 in yesterday’s delay announcement. I played a bit of Apex last night and jumped into the first game mode on offer, Gold Rush Duos. Nothing can describe the joy of seeing every single gun emitting that lovely golden glow, even knowing everyone else has got a gold gun, it’s just quite nice not to have to scramble around to find attachments. The Grand Soirée is also introducing its own sort of battle pass thing called the Event Prize Track....

How about that wrecking ball, eh? I think we just got our first look at Maggie’s ultimate ability. This ability won’t come as a total surprise to some, after a leak from “Biast12” on Twitter gave us a brief description of the Wrecking Ball ability as “a wad of debris that disorients targets and makes you move faster in its wake”. Perhaps that movement speed boost is the fiery effect we see around Maggie a few times in the trailer....
