In Griftlands, you play as either Sal the adventurer, Rook the spy, or Smith the “colossal walking disaster”. Once one is located (they tend to move in herds) you must attack it with the lumberjacking implements at your disposal until the trunk is compromised, sending this moisture-wicking arboreal freak from the arrogant vertical to the shameful horizontal in one humbling Pythagorean arc....

While it’s quite a neat puzzler in terms of how it plays with perspective and gravity, the real draw is in the worlds you’re brain-teasing your way through. See, Manifold Garden’s worlds are massive, infinitely terrifying, recursively folding in and across themselves while you finagle your way through their labyrinthine chambers....

Today marks N7 Day, a weird marketing event-turned-fan holiday for BioWare’s long-dormant spacefaring series. While it’s usually been fairly uneventful since Andromeda’s lacklustre launch in 2017, this year’s been a big one, with the Mass Effect trilogy getting the remaster it deserves. “For many months now, our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games,” BioWare’s Casey Hudson wrote over on the BioWare blog....

Developers Asobo shared a little about the update in a post on the game’s site, while also noting a slight delay on its originally intended January 26th release. The Ancient Hunts are extra tough missions only unlocked once you reach a high enough difficulty level. Googly eyes actually debuted in Monster Train last week with the ‘Wild Mutations’ update but as one of those there new ‘mutators’. Any run which uses these weird buffs and debuffs and quirks is ignored for clan experience, card mastery, covenant rank unlocks, or progression tracking. That’s not great.
