Yeah, Gotham Knights looks strong! The new gameplay footage flits between superheroes Night Wing and Red Hood as they engage in fisticuffs and do some investigating. Night Wing is the gymnastic one, who bounces between enemies with flips and spin-kicks. Red Hood is the buff one, who shoots people in cool ways and can bound across Gotham’s rooftops with strong Crackdown energy. It seems like Gotham will have plenty of activities to crack on with, as we get a glimpse of a big map and its many markers....

Gotham Knights was revealed at DC’s FanDome event in 2020 and is being developed by Warner Bros Montréal. Up until now, Warner have only shown two-player footage from Gotham Knights. Given that we know there are four of Batman’s pals taking on the villainous Court of Owls, it makes sense that four-player co-op would be included too, so it’s good to see that confirmed. Whether four-player co-op is an option for the main campaign or left to another mode has yet to be announced, but we might see more from the game at Summer Game Fest starting next month....

You can grab Bomber Crew from its Humble store page for the price of nothing anytime during, at the time of writing, the next two days and 19 hours. That’s 6pm GMT/10am PT/1pm ET on Saturday, January 16th. Bomber Crew would normally cost you £15/$15 and is pretty great. It’s a crew management game akin to FTL but set upon a World War 2 bomber as opposed to a spaceship....

Gizmo was revealed as MultiVersus’ next fighter at the start of this month by devs Player First Games. Apart from the obvious cuteness factor, the little feller’s voice-over is pretty funny. I particularly enjoy it when he shouts “NO PRISONERS!” at other combatants. It’s also cool that he rides in on the classic Barbie corvette from the movie. In terms of where Gizmo fits in the MultiVersus roster, he’s classed as a support/ranged hybrid character....

Cosmic Darkside is effectively a New Game Plus mode for Grindstone’s already jam-packed campaign. The cosmic horror scenario remixes the first 60 levels of Grindstone, accessible after you complete the first 200 levels of the original game. There’s two fresh enemies to take on – cosmic jerk and cosmic creep – and a mechanic called infection that causes enemies to eventually explode and infect others. Even grindstones themselves can be infected, creating cosmic grindstones that explode and carry on spreading the infection around each level’s board if they’re left for too long....

Said advice comes in the form of 24 constellations you can discover by looking up and drawing shapes in the sky with your mouse. You’ll need to give one of them to each Brute that asks you a question, but when every constellation has its own fortune-cookie-like meaning attached to it, finding the right one to answer their question successfully can be a challenge. As the toad man Ouuch tells you at the start, if you ask three separate people what the word ‘blue’ means to them, you’ll get three separate answers....

The info came in the form of a video by game director Adam Brennecke: The final early access update includes a pet gnat, a revision of the weapon and armour upgrade systems, and a new building called The Cookery which lets you start preparing food earlier in the game. This isn’t every feature that will be included when this early access update rolls out fully. It sounds like version 1....

GTA Online’s Open Wheel Races launch with seven tracks, some built in emptier corners of the maps and some in the heart of the city. I do like the city maps for the novelty of rocketing through neighbourhoods I usually use for mucking about with BMX stunts. It’s bloody. While the Open Wheel Races do have the option to disable player collisions and essentially race a bunch of ghosts, why would you?...

As Rockstar explain, play GTA Online any time during the month of May and you’ll get a one-time gift of $500,000 deposited direct to your bank account. It can take up to seven days to come through, though recent giveaways suggest some might get it a lot quicker (and some jammy gits might have a glitch give them it several times). Rockstar do these giveaways every now and then, and it’s always a nice bonus....

Curious, no? The games look newer, absolutely, but the contrast between high-tech shine and stylised art is odd and I’m not sure I’d say I think they look better. Weird ‘HD mod’ vibes. Maybe it’ll grow on me. And probably more relevant is improvements to how they play. The three games have been rebuilt in Unreal Engine by Grove Street Games, the studio who previously did mobile ports of the three (and were formerly known as War Drum Studios)....

If you haven’t played Grindstone then expect to slash your way through very cute, but exceedingly angry, colourful little monsters by lining your barbarian up through as many of one colour as you can. You can change colours by plotting a course through a special crystal on your way, and completing levels earns you loot and blueprints for new abilities. You’ll need them as you progress further up the game’s mountain and take on bosses....

The studio also behind the games Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre announced the Switch version during Nintendo’s Indie World livestream last night. In a follow-up written announcement, they noted that “our planned cross-save support means your Steam or Epic Games Store progress can transfer to the Switch!” That’s all they say for now, with no details on the processs, but it’s good news for folks who’d want to also play on Switch without starting over from scratch....

If you’re one of those still reading this metaphorical magazine, you can get beta access to the co-op mode this July if you sign up to Halo Insider. The official Halo account put out the news as a tweet: “With #HaloInfinite campaign network co-op arriving later this year, we’re planning to flight it to Halo Insiders in July,” says the tweet. “Register and make sure your Halo Insider profile is up to date for a chance to participate!...

Pac-Man DX+ takes what worked in the classic 80s arcade classic, namely the pellet gorging and ghost dodging, and amps it up by having a yellow face feasting to some fist-pumping dance music. Pac-Man’s noisy guzzling will wake up sleeping ghosts who will begin chasing after him. The regular four ghosts will eventually appear and do a good job of getting in your way, but you can always use a bomb to yeet all the ghosts around you to the centre of the board....

Looking up Sharkey’s 3D Pool in order to write this post, I discovered something that was remarkable to me, and probably uninteresting to you, but this is my post goshdarnit. See, the game had 7 AI player characters, each of which had a name, a portrait, a difficulty level, and maybe even a playing style - though I’m fuzzy on that part. Sharkey was obviously the best: he could clear the table in a single run if the mood struck....

Those were the days I’d while away on all manner of all-time classics. Ace Attorney. Professor Layton. Pokémon. The works. The series I look back on most fondly, though? That’d be Advance Wars.The turn-based cutesy-military strategy series made world war adorable and fun, with super likeable characters in the campaigns and a multiplayer system that let me pass my DS around to friends as we traded Mechs into Neotanks like no one’s business....

World Of Horror is a horror game in an adventure-style format. It’s still in early access at the moment, but even in its current state it’s incredibly well-polished. You’re a teenage detective obsessed with all manner of spooky goings-on in your home town, and there are a selection of cases you can investigate. I made it through the opening tutorial case that sees you wander through an abandoned school in search of a missing mate who’s been dabbling in occult demonic rituals, and I also just about scraped through the mystery of the creepy janitor abducting school girls to turn them into mermaids (because of course)....

You can choose when to end the sentence, but otherwise you should be completely hands-off. No cheating, or you miss the point of this wonderful and insightful game. You can learn an awful lot about yourself from your phone’s predictive text. Don’t believe me? The first thing to notice is like, wow, Carlos is very shiny. Perhaps he’s got a new zombie-repellent technique involving a vat of olive oil. Oliveira oil? Eh? They can’t bite you if they can’t grab you. Tzarev has really done our guy Carlos some justice here. He may be sculpted as heck but he’s got scars too. This guy has seen some things in Raccoon City. Tzarev says that this mod edits Carlos’ head and body meshes but it should work alongside hair mods....

This time, the deck restriction is different, and more difficult to accommodate than simply filling your deck with odd and even cards. There is a lot less consistency both with drawing the cards you need and with regards to Discovering the correct Hero Power. You can’t build your deck around getting Paladin’s upgraded Hero Power that summons two Silver Hand Recruits. Instead, Sir Finley of the Sands needs to be drawn and played early on, as it offers a valuable effect for the rest of the game much in the same manner as Prince Keleseth did in the days of the Frozen Throne....
