If you’d not seen it yet, the co-op puzzle game stars two kiwis called Jeff and Debra doing their darndest to run a post office with their tiny little bodies. “With no hands to help them, they must jump, flap, peck and butt-slam their way across an interactive landscape of levers, bells and buttons to get those messages delivered on time,” say developers Stonewheat & Sons. Today’s trailer is actually to announce KeyWe’s console launches, but we can spot some extra nasty disasters that Jeff and Debs will have to deal with....

They contacted us to let us know that her piece was the inspiration for adding a feature called Let It Be, a skip puzzle function that you can access at any time. Apart from poor writing, these excessive, brute force attempts to disturb define Martha Is Dead. They suck. Horror games are allowed to be horrific, but the way to cultivate real fear is through restraint rather than desensitising bombardment. For the most part Martha just made me frown and go “ew”. We’re in rural Italy, 1944, towards the end of WW2. You’re Giulia, the daughter of a fascist general, though that’s just backdrop....

Here’s an excellent video from YouTube channel ObsidianAnt soaring past some of the game’s beasts. The voice over for the video is very nice to listen to - if all the footage wasn’t from planes it’d feel like an actual wildlife documentary. Travelling over various countries in Africa he spots elephants and giraffes, before heading to Chile and Argentina to get a glimpse of a flock of flying flamingos. Apparently there are other types of birds and even grizzly bears roaming the Flight Sim world as well - but maybe keep to the skies if you notice those wandering around....

The Verge attempted to find out, asking the teams behind 15 of Steam’s most popular games by player count. Many of these – including Apex Legends, Fall Guys and Rainbow Six Siege - are in the “No comment” camp, though none of the 15 denied outright that they were considering Steam Deck compatibility. Conversely, it turns out Ark: Survival Evolved, Dead by Daylight, Rust, and War Thunder are all planning to go portable with the aid of an update to their anti-cheat....

The announcement, made via the game’s Twitter account, says that as well as season one, the battle pass, and Morty later in the month, other “new modes and content” are planned. Though there aren’t many details on those additions yet, earlier in the week game director Tony Huynh stated that “ranked, classic arcade, and characters are coming some time during,” the season. Presumably one of those characters will be Rick, completing the Rick and Morty duo, as previously stated, but no date has been given for his appearance yet....

Get the EVGA RTX 2060 SC Gaming for £212 (was £440) All hyperbole aside, the RTX 2060 remains a surprisingly good option in 2022, with DLSS offering a handy frame-rate boost in titles where you might want to enable visual effects like RT, and RT performance in general being better than AMD’s offerings on equivalently priced cards. The overall level of rasterised performance (ie non-RT games) is quite reasonable as well, making the RTX 2060 a good choice for 1080p gaming - or 1440p if you’re willing to accept a few sensible settings tweaks....

The trailer is a series of clips, each averaging about 3 seconds long, of different people shooting different guns and rockets and so on. So it’s technically a gameplay trailer in the way that loads of different corpses stitched together is a person (no comments from Frankenstein fans). Still, aside from confirming the new release date of August 23rd next year, I think this trailer also confirms that the new city of Santo Ileso is going to be the star of this game....

The portals are an important part of Nightingale’s whole setup, as the reason you’re stuck crafting and having to survive in these fantastical realms is because they all burst at the beginning of the game. My money’s on the magical Fae having something to do with it, as they’re the ones you’ll be defending your makeshift settlements against as the game goes on. You can either do so alone or in co-op with other strandees....

Ironically, Nvidia start their apology / Q&A post by saying it was “simultaneously the best GPU launch ever and the most frustrating,” although surely a “best ever” launch should mean no hiccups whatsoever. As you may recall, the RTX 3080 quickly sold out when it went on sale last Thursday, with US retailer Newegg reporting it took all of five minutes for their inventory to fly off their digital shelves....

To test the RTX 3080 and the 2080 Ti, I put them head to head in my general games benchmarking suite, taking an average frame rate from either their own built-in benchmark tools or from my own repeated manual gameplay tests. The games includes Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Total War: Three Kingdoms, Final Fantasy XV, Monster Hunter: World, The Witcher III, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Metro Exodus and Forza Horizon 4....

Like the first game, Octo 2 is a fantasy JRPG focused on eight different characters, each with their own skills and storyline that intertwines with all the other. It’s most striking for its art style, which blends ye olde 16-bit era sprite art with 3D environments and more bokeh effect than you’ll have seen outside a photo uploaded to Flickr circa 2003....

After accidentally leaking their new standalone VR headset earlier in the week, Facebook finally unveiled the Oculus Quest 2 in full during their Facebook Connect developer conference this evening. As we saw yesterday, the Quest 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 chipset and 6GB of RAM, and its display will have a per-eye resolution of 1832x1920, making it Oculus’ highest resolution display yet. It will be available with 64GB of storage at its base price of £299 / $299, but there will also be a 256GB model for £399 / $399....

But while both those types of game tend to soak up days of my life and leave me with powerful grinder’s remorse, Ooblets feels less insidious than either. Time was going by a lot faster than I’d realised, but not in the mindless haze of repetition or chasing numbers. It’s a good time. Farming takes very little hard work, but it’s still nice to see everything grow. The idea is simple, and in many ways, it works like you probably expect....

All You Can Eat is essentially a remaster bundle that came out earlier this year, with Overcooked 1, Overcooked 2, and its DLC (as well as some new bits) all stuffed into one convenient package. A wee bit cheeky that the freebies come in this rather than the actual game (cough Overcooked 1 cough) who’s birthday it is, mind you. Having said that, part of the celebrations involve Overcooked: All You Can Eat being free to play before 6pm BST on August 11th....
