In Pumpkin High, a character named Nefaria Munch has turned the student body into pumpkin-headed followers. I’m honestly not sure if you’re trying to turn them back or simply educating them in the way of gourds. Elsewhere you’ll find new customisation options to let staff and students dress up as werewolves, zombies and mummies, as well as decoration items to let you pepper campuses with cobwebs and spooky trees....

The new Might & Magic game is a spinoff of the turn-based strategy series with the usual fantasy people and creatures. Instead of strategy battles from the mainline series, you’ll use units from other Might & Magic games on your board of auto battling chess pieces. Ubisoft are paring down the usual battle royale experience into shorter sessions closer to what you’d expect of an auto chess game, but still shorter yet than Dota Underlords or Teamfight Tactics....

The VFX service teams of Weta Digital will live on seperately as WetaFX. In addition to bug fixes, Iron Gate let on a bit about their enemy visual updates. “Some other things that we have worked on are graphical updates to the troll, the second boss, and the third boss to give their old models some new fresh looks, and have their designs better fall in line with how we envision the enemies of Valheim,” they say. On top of that, Omen has also bagged himself an… unintentional buff (read: bug) that allows him to go invulnerable sometimes after using his Ultimate. Valorant’s bugs have been pretty amusing so far. The last big update they managed to double up Raze’s rocket launchers, and this time players are reporting that ghosty boy Omen is keeping his temporary invulnerability after using his Ultimate, so he just… won’t die....

Announced back in 2018, Warcraft III: Reforged is a completely rebuilt version of the original game, bringing new visuals to all the heroes, environments and buildings, as well as remastered maps and an improved UI. It’s not clear from the info on Warcraft III’s site, but they’re aiming for Reforged to support all the old mods, and the old Warcraft III is even being patched into the same client as Reforged, allowing you to play with your friends whether you’re on the old or new version of the game....

We first saw some of The New War at TennoCon this year, where they showed off some impressive-looking (and dare I say, cinematic) footage. The new trailer below is equally as cool. I haven’t played Warframe, but I’ve always admired its fab sci-fi scenes. The New War is a free expansion that continues the existing “Cinematic Quest” line. You jump in as new playable characters on missions in new environments, including some of those open worlds Warframe so often likes to add....

I’ve been watching other people’s videos of the phenomenon, though, and they make me feel strange. There are so many fresh deaders who unwittingly broadcast their howls of rage, and it feels wrong to take pleasure in another person’s venom. I just can’t deny that it’s also very funny. Just three days ago, Infinity Ward announced that a “scopes and scatter guns” mode for teams of three would replace the regular trios Battle Royale playlist. Apparently folks weren’t into the idea, because the developers quickly heel-turned on that yesterday. Now shotguns and snipers are getting in the bin. Regular trios are back. Warzone’s other mode, Plunder, has also gotten a playlist change. In the cash-grabbing version, Infinity Ward has cut teams down from quads to duos....

Oh, so that’s what that Wasteland 3’s animatronic Ronald Reagan was all about. Gotcha. Early in IGN’s vid, the pair give us a rundown of some individuals you’ll meet in your Wasteland 3 travels. There’s a “lovable, corruptable bodyguard”, sure, but let’s skip him and get straight to The Gippers. These odd’uns are a cult that worships actor-turned-republican President Ronald Reagan as a “God-President”, led by High Priestess and First Lady Nancy Reliance....

All fine so far - not every little shard of PCIe 4.0 storage needs to be an ambitious pace merchant like WD’s own Black SN850, nor a relatively entry-level drive like the Black SN750 SE. However, while the Black SN770 can deliver on in-game performance, its overall performance and surprisingly high pricing leaves it stuck awkwardly between those two other WD offerings. And given they’re two of the best SSDs you can buy right now, that’s not a very comfortable place to be....

Here’s a trailer that shows off the major changes: The new combat features include the ability to lethally take enemies down from stealth with melee weapons. Previously it was only possible to non-lethally attack enemies stealthily, but the change is designed to make players feel more like an assassin. Likewise, there’s now more choice when it comes to non-lethal playstyles. Hitting enemies with blunt weapons such as shovels and clubs, or fists and feet, will knock enemies unconscious when their health bar hits zero....

I know in my heart of hearts this will not happen. If it did I’d squeal like a teenage girl at a One Direction concert, and probably not stop squealing until Christmas. But “what ifs” are fun and all this excitement has got me wondering where a future entry to the series could take us. Would BioWare attempt to salvage what’s left of Mass Effect: Andromeda? Shuffling the series over to an entirely new galaxy was a great move, I thought....
