While the game was set at Greenwood High School during Taiwan’s 38 years under martial law, which ended in 1987, the show takes place there in the 1990s. Without spoiling much, the series is still built on that original setting, with its spookings crawling out of the ‘White Terror’ period into the slightly-more-present day. I’m not sure directly that historical strand is adapted from the game (it’s been a while) but hey, it doesn’t need to be - I’m enjoying Detention the show as its own thing....

Now, NEO: The World Ends With You has arrived, but this long-awaited sequel is far from a simple retread of what the first game did 15 years ago. Shibuya itself has changed a lot in the intervening years and it’s fascinating to see how NEO’s setting and its gameplay mechanics have evolved alongside it. How to unstuck in New World If your character in New World ever gets stuck at any point and you can’t wiggle them out yourself, there’s a very simple fix: the “unstuck” command. Using this command will teleport your character a very short distance to a nearby free space. There are two ways to do this, and I’ll explain them both below. It’s very simple, don’t worry. The easiest way to get unstuck in New World is to hit ESC to bring up the game menu, then click the “Unstuck” button at the top of the menu, under the “Game” section....

The most exciting parts of the new update are, of course, the new Elder Dragons. Velkhana is a returning foe from Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, and we got a hefty look at lord of the tundra in a new trailer (embedded above). Velkhana still deals icy attacks to freeze you in place, so wear something warm. Velkhana can be challenged from Master Rank 10 onwards. The update’s other big boss is the Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax who can be challenged starting at Master Rank 160 and above....

I mean, yes, no one in their right mind will ever need wheels on their desktop PC. What do Acer think we’re going to do with them? Wheel the entire thing over to a socially-distanced LAN party at your mate’s house? It’s unlikely, to say the least. Still, there’s something about this 2700€ mega PC on wheels that I just can’t bring myself to hate. Just think how easy it would be to wheel it out and do a bit of dusting behind your desk the next time you were doing a bit of cleaning, or the speed with which you could chop and change different USB devices without having to get a torch out to see whether the port you’re mashing into oblivion is, in fact, a USB port and not a rogue Ethernet port or display output....

Like Hazelight’s previous split screener A Way Out, It Takes Two puts you and your pal in the shoes of two characters learning (or rather re-learning) to work together. Soon to be divorced couple Cody and May are transformed into toy dolls by a magic spell that they’ll need to cooperate to undo. The gameplay trailer below shows the two climbing cardboard boxes, chatting with squirrels, swinging on sneakers, and other tiny transformation hijinx you’d expect....

The list of names heading to Haven from Stadia was caught by Cyberia on ResetEra (thanks, Gamasutra), and includes Corey May (who was notably a narrative director on the Assassin’s Creed series) and Sebastien Puel (former Assassin’s Creed producer, now Haven co-founder). User researcher Jonathan Dankoff, programmer Pierre-Marc Bérubé, and concept artists Erwann Le Rouzic and Francis Denoncourt are joining them. Those sure are a lot of high profile names....
