We also caught sight of a Fortnite banana man, a very good 2B from Nier: Automata, a very fierce-looking Henry Cavill-fied Geralt from The Witcher, and not one, but two pairs of Codys and Mays from It Takes Two....

Following the first season’s debut in March 2021, Valve did add of the show’s original characters to the game, Marci. While I found the first series too edgy and plodding, I do think it’s good to be able to separate source material from adaptations, to treat them as different things, enjoy them for different reasons, and not get hung up on differences....
Serial Cleaners sees you alternate between four different disposers who work for the mob: a criminal organisation that does a lot of murder. It’s New Year’s eve, 1999, and the squad reminisces about the old days, like how they met and the biggest jobs they’d ever pulled off. You’ve got Bob, the jaded mentor who returns from the first game; Psycho, the tropey disturbed one; Lati, a speedy parkour enthusiast; and Vip3r (with a three in her name, yes), a hacker who says things like “leet” and “TTYI” and it makes me want to sink into the earth with embarrassment....
I am less into: the jack-in-the-box enemies which bounce around like that horrible creature out the film Krampus. Well done on making something so awful, Flying Wild Hog. I hate it. The movement seems dead swish too. Along with the grappling hook letting you chuck high-speed ueys, Lo Wang is returning with an air dash move, wallrunning, and a double-jump. Looks like he’s learned some Doom-style execution moves too. I am also super into the conventional wall-mounted spike racks a la Bulletstorm and Dark Messiah....
Up to three players are dropping into a big map as class-based ‘heroes’ to help reclaim futureEarth by completing missions and shooting hordes of dinosaurs. It has weapon upgrades, persistent levelling to unlock new gear, and a “threat level” system that’ll change the dinosaur presence around the world each week as players complete or fail missions, so it should have some progression and variety. You can play on your tod but you won’t get AI teamies to fill the squad spaces where chums should be, which seems a shame....

It’s been a long struggle, but when I stumbled upon YouTube compilations of heavily-modded Elder Scrolls, I finally broke the curse. Some brave souls do the hard work for me, turning the nine-year-old RPG (or four-year-old remaster, or two-year-old VR remake) into PC melting 4K thirst traps. I don’t have time for that. Nor the PC. My dalliances with modding have given me a basic appreciation of the mental state required to get Skyrim running with mods....
The sequel continues the story of Beatrix LeBeau, but this time is set on Rainbow Island, a new, colourful locale populated by familiar and new kinds of slimes. You’re still armed with your vac, with which you can hoover up slimes, lock ’em up in laser cages, then feed ’em - I’m guessing, if it’s like the first game - until they poop so you can sell that poop on the stock market....
SnowRunner, in case you’d missed it, is a truck-driving sim about the inch-by-inch challenges of harsh terrain. Mud pits, snow pits, and big rocks aren’t decorative scenery you roll over, they’re serious problems to solve as you try to complete missions. You rarely see games focus so tightly on the mechanics of movement, and it’s immensely satisfying. “The game, in essence, is to marshal the forces pulling you down so that they instead push you forward,” Jeremy Peel said in our SnowRunner review last year....
Here’s a new explainer video: I like football, but it looks as if Soccer Story is about football in the way Pokémon is about bug collecting. It’s an inspiration, sure, but I doubt you’re going to be struggling with the offside trap. Instead, there are several football-adjacent activities as you explore a Zelda-like world, and then when the soccer matches do happen, they’re against pensioners, toddlers, ninjas and sharks. As you rescue regions from their soccer-based ailments, you’ll also have opportunities to level up your personal soccer stats, and ultimately you’ll overthrow the nefarious organisation responsible for banning football, Soccer Inc....
From what we know so far, SteelRising is set in an alternate universe French revolution in which King Louis XVI commands an army of automatons that are on a murder craze against the citizens of Paris. Aegis, the automaton badyguard for Marie Antoinette, is put to work stomping the king and his army. Spiders have also mentioned that they’re planning for some climbing type exploration in this one, which sounds like it could play well with the setting....
