The first five minutes of Valve’s True Sight documentary have sucked me right in. It’s a feature length film showing drama from inside the player booths, between match pep talks, and the matches themselves. They’re all so sweet. I don’t normally care about sports drama, but this is very well put together. There’s a blue-eyed bloke in a Fremen stillsuit who’s prepping himself to jump aboard one of Arrakis’ gigantic sandworms. They’re Dune’s version of trains, y’see. The game’s coming from Funcom, purveyors of licensed Dune games since 2019. They’re known for other licensed MMOs such as Conan Exiles. I enjoyed the first half of that there Denis Villeneuve Dune movie that came out last year....

In a new Elden Ring gameplay presentation from the Taipei Game Show, producer Yasuhiro Kitao confirmed that development was going smoothly. “It is. Romero Games and publishers Paradox Interactive announced the delay in a press release earlier today. In it, Brenda Romero explained that the delay intends to give Empire of Sin’s development a little more breathing room. “It takes time to get everything right and presents us with some unique opportunities. I am grateful we are taking the additional time to polish”. Ironing the suits, polishing the Tommy Guns, cooking up an extra batch of deep-dish pies and nailing that Chicago drawl....

Paradox have already released a hotfix that addresses a lot of issues, but not nearly all. There’s a problem megathread on the EU4 forum and a similar post on Reddit cataloguing the issues, including bugs, balance problems and missing content. Leviathan is the first EU4 DLC produced by new studio Paradox Tinto, led by original EUIV designer Johan Andersson. In a since deleted post (available on the Web Archive) on the game’s forum, Andersson wrote that they had “identified and corrected some issues in our production process based on learnings from this release and are taking concrete action - both to fix the existing issues and to ensure future releases meet the quality you expect....
