Feels weird to me that Control has already been out for a year. It feels like only yesterday I was hearing everyone rave about that weird Ashtray Maze. This edition of Control will come with both the game’s expansions, The Foundation and AWE. The Foundation came out in March, allowing players to explore the underbelly of The Oldest House, armed with a new weapon and a new superpower. Enad Global 7 are a Swedish company who own studios including DCUO devs Dimensional Ink, MechWarrior 5 devs Piranha Games, publishers Sold Out, and Daybreak Game Company, the folks behind MMOs including PlanetSide 2, H1Z1, and EverQuest. Not a big name, but they have quietly made some big acquisitions in the past few years. And apparently they’ve managed to land a big license, going by this month’s new investor presentation....

First unveiled back at E3 2021, the initial trailer for Death Stranding’s Director’s Cut had very distinct Metal Gear Solid vibes, and left many of us (msyelf included) wondering whether it was some kind of stealth-based expansion. As it turns out, that Metal Gear-esque sequence will likely be one of the new story missions in the Director’s Cut, which you can see glimpses of in the new trailer below. According to Kojima Production’s head of publishing Jay Boor, the new content “isn’t simply bolted on” to the original game....
The new quest line, available from Zavala, sends us on a tour of the four soon-to-be-nonlocations, checking in on each’s resident NPC questgiver. Help them out with their new bounties and you can get new rolls on some old weapons, including the Ikelos SMG and sniper. Yesterday, anonymous sources told Kotaku of the departures, which was announced internally to the developers before being made public. An Activision Blizzard spokesperson later confirmed that the trio had left the company, saying: Barriga had worked at Blizzard since 2005 on World Of Warcraft and the Diablo games. With his departure from Diablo 4, which is still in development and doesn’t yet have a release date, it’s currently unknown who’ll step in to lead the project....
That’s a swish cinematic showdown between Inarius, Archangel of The High Heavens, and Lilith, Daughter of Hatred. I do still adore those blazing tendril wings of Diablo angels. Only hours ago, a Washington Post report claimed, based on speaking to fifteen current and former Blizzard, that the game’s development remains mighty troubled. They claim the project has been mismanaged, the team have been bleeding talent and burning out, and that it was unlikely to meet a June launch without a whole lot of ‘crunch’ overtime....
