Agent 64 Spies Never Die S Demo Is A Retro Throwback To Rare S Goldeneye

The inspiration is abundantly clear just to look at it, but it holds true in how Agent 64 plays, too. You’ll fire from the hip without crosshairs but forgiving auto-aim, then use the right mouse button to switch to a specific aiming mode for shooting off padlocks or getting headshots. Enemies, meanwhile, run into view carelessly, flee when shot, and have feet that never quite seem connected to the floor....

Airplane Mode Will Strap You In For A Six Hour Flight This Year

Hope you brought a good book with you, reader. We’re in this for the long haul. Airplane Mode lumps you in the seat of an economy-class flight from New York, New York to Reykjavik, Iceland - a good six-hour haul on a good day. The entire trip is rendered from take-off to landing, with a “relatively accurate” satellite map to check out if you manage to bag yourself a window seat....

All The Games In Valve S Steam Deck Reveal Were Running Off The Sd Card

Don’t just take my word for it. Valve engineer Lawrence Yang said so on Twitter. Someone called K-Med asaked: “Are there concerns about the read/write speed of the SD card and slot? Will games on the SD card be playable, just taking longer to load than if stored internally?” Yang responded: “Yep, games will load faster off internal storage, but games still play great off an SD card. When IGN came by, all the games they tried (and shot footage of) were played off a microSD card....

All Women Speedrunning Marathon Flame Fatales Has Begun

Flame Fatales kicked off yesterday, and there are already a couple of runs to catch up on. So far, most of it is console stuff like Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen and Super Mario Maker, but we did see a little bit of PC gaming with a Celeste custom maps run. Here’s the full VOD from yesterday’s stream (set to start at that Celeste run). Unlike AGDQ and GDQ, Flame Fatales isn’t a round-the-clock marathon, so at the time of writing they’re on a short break....

Amazon Sign First Look Deal With The Company Planning Disco Elysium And Life Is Strange Shows

DJ2 Entertainment have scooped up the adaptation rights to a load of games in recent years. Their current plans include a live-action Disco Elysium series, a live-action Life Is Strange series, a Sleeping Dogs feature film, an Echo live-action movie, a live-action Ruiner series, a Little Nightmares series, and something based on It Takes Two. In terms of ideas they’ve actually realised, DJ2 were producers on the Skulls Of The Shogun cartoon, two of their fellas co-produced the unexpectedly fun Sonic The Hedgehog movie (which I’ve still not forgiven for changing Sonic’s face), and DJ12 are executive producers on the Tomb Raider animated series headed to Netflix....

Amd Ryzen 9 5900X Review

It was certainly the case with AMD’s Ryzen 9 3900X, which, while fast, wasn’t really that much nippier gaming-wise than the Ryzen 7 3700X. I suspect it will probably be the case for the Ryzen 9 5900X, too, as the performance gains the 5900X offers over the stonkingly good Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 7 5800X are also quite minimal. Certainly not enough to convince me to spend another £300 / $250-odd on it in any case....

American Truck Simulator Adds More Sightseeing Spots

“After Idaho’s release, it was evident from the community’s response that this was a popular feature and one that many of you would like to see expanded upon,” developers SCS Software said in today’s announcement. “While we continue to improve this new addition, we are excited to announce that viewpoints will be arriving in Washington and Utah.” As of today’s patch, you can now find ten viewpoints in each state, showing of wilderness, buildings, industries, and other local curios....

Aoc Have A New 49In Monitor To Rival Samsung S Crg9

The good news is that AOC’s 49in-er is going to be available for a lot less than Samsung’s CRG9, with current US pricing standing at $1000. The CRG9, on the other hand, currently sets you back $1200 (although that in itself is still $100 less than when I reviewed it last November). Is it best gaming monitor material though? Sadly, the bad news is that the AG493UCX’s HDR support isn’t nearly as advanced as its Samsung rival, hence its lower price....

Apex Legends New Map Stormpoint Has Spiders And Alien Dogs

Stormpoint is a long forgotten IMC base (who you might know as the corporate military faction in Titanfall) on a tropical island that’s overrun with fearsome wildlife. It’s the biggest map yet for Apex, and it has an excellent variation of stuff to explore - from little islets and pretty beaches, to jungles and old facilities. Unlike the other three maps, Stormpoint doesn’t have any redeploy balloons. It has something better: gravity cannons....

Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 Raised Over 2 3 Million

Before we get to that though, the real news: Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 raised $3,155,199.56 (about £2.3 million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation! That’s around $700,000 more than the winter event raised last year, and the second ever Games Done Quick event to surpass the $3 million milestone (second only to last summer’s GDQ). Now onto the highlights! For a quick starter, here’s speedrunner Flarebear blasting his way through Celeste in just over 20 minutes....

Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 Has Begun

If you’ve missed the first day of AGDQ, not to worry, the stream VODs are already up on Twitch for your viewing pleasure. These include speedy playthroughs of Mirror’s Edge (which are always impressive), Just Cause 3, and Ori And The Will Of The Wisps amongst a couple other PC games. So far I’ve only had a chance to watch the Dragon Age: Origins run myself. I love speedruns of BioWare games because the runners get to miss out all the rubbish bits - like the dreaded Fade and Orzammar levels....

Axiom Verge 2 Is Headed To Pc After All As An Epic Exclusive

The announcement was made during the Epic Games Store spring showcase, which highlighted new games coming to EGS this year. Axiom Verge 2’s trailer capped off the show, albeit with the same announcement trailer from back in 2019. Here’s the Switch original, because all it’s missing is some Epic logos: Developer Thomas Happ wrote a post on the game’s official site, explaining the reason behind the exclusivity. Basically, it gives him financial security: The same post also confirms that the game will come to Steam eventually....

Baldur S Gate 3 Now Expected To Launch In 2023

“Our internal goal post for release is a quality bar rather than a date,” Larian explained in a press release today. “A ton of progress has been made towards that quality bar over the past year in early access, but we know many players are waiting for an actual date. That date will come when we’re even closer to meeting our goal, but right now our expectation is that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released out of early access in 2023....

Battle Royale Brawler Rumbleverse Launches From Its Cannon On August 11Th

Set in the ridiculously named Grapital City, Rumbleverse pits fighters against each other until only one is left standing in true battle royale fashion. The difference here is that combat is entirely melee-based, with fighters launched out of a cannon at the start of every match. Smashing crates around the map gives your fighter access to new weapons and upgrades to employ in brawls. I like a good dose of verticality in my games, and this seems to have some epic smackdown potential....

Battletoads Is Launching August 20Th

Rare are marking the announcement with some toad antics in a new trailer. It’s got licking. It’s got hopping. It’s got the irreverent bants and chunky animated outlines of Saturday morning cartoons from the aughts. Yup, they’re still morphing between genres as well, with beat ’em up, race ’em up, and hop ’em up platforming stages. “The tenacity and split-second reflexes required to beat the original Battletoads has given it a fearsome reputation among fans....

Befriend Fishfolk And Upgrade Ships In Sail Forth

It looks a little like A Short Hike with boats - A Short Sail, maybe - and the Steam page leans on playful exploration. There are fishfolk to befriend, dolphins to follow, and criminals to teach a lesson across twelve different regions. There’s also loads of fish to catch, a photography mode, and a “Free Sail” mode that strips away all the objectives in favour of just floating around the scenery....

Behind The Scenes Of Fallen London S New Map

Fallen London’s map used to be a flat, 2D, top-down view of the game’s weirdly esoteric version of the UK capital. A sort of Victoriana Google maps, with a few key locations marked. But after dedicated toil by art director Paul Arendt and artist Tobias Cook, it’s been transformed into a detailed isometric wonder, filled out with depictions of specific buildings. Areas you can’t reach yet are greyed out, while new buildings are suddenly presented to you as you discover routes to them....

Benchmarking Has Completely Ruined My Steam Play Time Profile

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I’m also fascinated by the amount of time I spend playing games, too (and yes, I do have a list for this as well - albeit only for my Nintendo Wii games at the moment). Steam, of course, keeps excellent track of your play time - and because it’s always open on my PC, there’s no need to keep my own version of it. I can just load up my Steam profile and gaze lovingly at the hours and minutes in my All Games tab....
