I’ve been playing cyberpunk shooter E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy again and was delighted to learn that in the grim dark future of humanity, katanas can deflect bullets. Of course they can. They wouldn’t be cool if they couldn’t. I adore games employing this bit of daftness to make swords functional in high-tech games....

The Bunker follows Henri Clement, a French soldier who’s been separated from his battalion and trapped inside the twisting, titular war bunker. At least he’s not completely alone… a mysterious, deadly monster is trapped in there with him and I’m sure it’ll all work out fine. Apart from the WWI dressing, Amnesia: The Bunker looks to have everything you’d expect from the series: a creepy setting, a menacing stalker, and lots of puzzling to do....

I was overjoyed at the new life breathed into the series with Assassin’s Creed: Oranges. 2018’s Odyssey, featuring best woman in the entire world Kassandra, and all her giant pals, was even better. Ravenholm was cancelled because the headcrabs and zombies that featured in it were “played out” and it was constraining to have to fit the game before Half-Life 2: Episode 2, according to former Valve writer Marc Laidlaw. Ravenholm began life as a fourth episode of Half-Life 2 before Valve decided to spin it off into its own thing. The murderpipe is very good. The flabby cube with a trunk is very good. The giant mouth atop two diddy feet is very good. The colossal giraffephants are very good. Whatever that mechman is, it’s very good indeed. The Endless Cylinder is out on the Epic Games Store later this year, as well as Xbone and PS4.
