Pinnacle Station sends Shepard and chums to a spacebase for virtual combat training missions. It didn’t have much story and wasn’t exciting, but did reward Shepard with her own little retirement bungalow on a distant planet - which also let her buy powerful gear early and easily. Not huge, but handy. That won’t be in the Legendary Edition. Made by Demiurge Studios, the DLC didn’t wasn’t even in all versions of the original game....

Microsoft just announced they’ve bought ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda. The developers of games such as Skyrim, Fallout, Dishonored, Prey, Doom, Quake and all those classics are now technically Xbox Game Studios. Xbox boss Phil Spencer made a post welcoming the developers, in what he calls a “landmark step” for both Microsoft and Bethesda. What a year. “Bethesda’s games have always had a special place on Xbox and in the hearts of millions of gamers around the world,” Spencer says....
“Minds Beneath Us is an adventure about a guy and a data ghost who lives in his head and controls his body,” developers BearBone Studio say. “After society has become fully automated with AI, a new industry has emerged that replaces the hardware needed to operate the internet with linked human brains.” From the sounds of things, you play as this data ghost, helping your human make choices, and investigate some sort of conspiracy with all this scary tech....
Back in my day, you greeted a friend by looking at them and smashing your shift key to crouch over and over or jumping for joy or punching them in the face. Now you can choose from a few new default options like waving and clapping and pointing. I suppose punching your mates is frowned upon, now. Can’t have any fun these days, I tell ya what. There are more emotes to unlock through achievements, but those are the three you’ll begin with....
Mojang showed off some cross-play in action during Minecraft Live while developers explained a bit of that Howling Peak DLC that’s slated for next month. Lookit that, controllers and keyboard co-opping in harmony. In case it’s not abundantly clear from the handy, colored backgrounds, Mojang say that players will be able to co-op between PC, Xbox One, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch. If you’re curious about that Howling Peaks DLC, it’s planned for December....
I popped in to take a look at some of the new underworld areas earlier this year when the first Nether Update snapshot got pushed to the Java edition of the game. At the time I mostly flew around checking out the new biomes being added. Up until now, The Nether has had just one massive biome full of lava, soul sand, and fortresses. The update will add the spooky blueish Soulsand Valley, blood red Crimson Forest, otherworldly teal Warped Forest, and the grim, grey Basalt Deltas....
Yep, there’s a train coming to Verdansk, and I’m already making space on my hard-drive for this rolling stock of death. The trailer also gives us a look inside the stadium, and has the surprise inclusion of what appears to be a raven assassination. I love how maps in battle royale games evolve. They’re not subtle, so you get the addition of a honking great train looping the map. Players can hop on it and fight, or chase it with other vehicles to take down anyone riding on it....
So, those who own Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare will finally be able to delete parts of the game which they don’t need anymore, and reclaim a tonne of hard drive space in the process. Paul Haile, the production director on Modern Warfare, announced the news through Twitter last night. Update: The patch is now live! As noted by PC Gamer, Monster Hunter: World went from 17 negative reviews on December 3rd to over 1,000 the next day. According to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, the ire stems from one particular “joke” in Anderson’s flick which - on top of being just plain unfunny - allegedly builds on a historically racist playground chant in English-speaking countries.
