It really is simple. Wordle presents you with a blank grid of squares, into which you type letters. You’ve got six guesses to get the word. Personally I like to begin with what I call “the farts gambit”, and always use FARTS as my first word. It helps to find, or rule out, a common vowel and some of the most common consonants. If a letter in a word you enter contains a correct letter, it turns yellow....
To get us all prepared for a trip out of mortality, Blizzard have released a new story trailer for the sinister expansion. Truly, I have no idea what is going on in Azeroth these days. While originally planned to launch back on Tuesday, Blizzard delayed Shadowlands last month - citing a need for polish, balance, and to tighten up some interlocking systems. Today, executive producer John Hight returned with a message explaining that they’re on track with those changes, believing the team can get the game on shelves by November 23rd....

Hit the Epic Games Store before 4pm on Thursday the 21st and you can grab these two free for keepsies. XCOM 2 is good. It is. Fun stuff. Really. Adam’s XCOM 2 review in 2016 called it “a classic in its own right and as good a sequel as I can remember.” But I’m being a little reserved because oh goodness me it is so, so, so much better with its expansion, War Of The Chosen, which isn’t included in the freebie....
A Kickstarter update lays out some of the new content in the demo versus the one released in May last year. They’re substantial, including a cyberspace level, the ability to save, adjustable difficulty, and voice acting for SHODAN, the game’s beloved villainous AI you can hear in the trailer above. I haven’t played a wrestling game since 2002’s fair to middling WWE Wrestlemania X8 on the GameCube, so I can’t say I immediately noticed the absence of WWE 2K20, 2K19, 2K18 and 2K17 from Valve’s storefront. Going from hyper-arcadey shooters to an animated series is a hell of a jump for Terrible Posture, mind. You can decide for yourself whether it’s paid off with a peep at 3 Out Of 10’s reveal trailer. As a gamedev team writing a satirical gamedev show, Terrible Posture promise a “loving, satirical look at game development”, with gaffs going from mobbish fans to awkward pitch meetings. Sequences shift from conversational, story-driven moments into more freeform exploration of the studio, dipping into minigames whenever the first episode’s protagonist (new hire Midge) helps out around the office....
I enjoyed coming to realise how Mitchriz was playing. The foundation is memorisation, remembering level layouts and placements of enemies and items and such. This is augmented with hearing, picking up clues to his exact position from the noises made by things like pick-ups and long grass, striking with his sword to feel out walls, and telling what enemies are doing from their noises. Throw it all together and it’s hella impressive....

Meservey sent the message ahead of the Blizzard-Albany QA staff’s union election on October 27th. Shortly after Sony debuted Aeon Must Die’s announcement, another trailer popped up on YouTube claiming to share the “truth” on the game’s apparently troubled development (cheers, USGamer). The description for the alternate cut claims the trailer was “created with abuse, manipulation, theft”, and suggests that many developers behind its creation are no longer with the company - many of them unpaid for their work. The biggest cue, however, is a link to a Dropbox repository containing a wealth of documentation: personal testaments, recordings, and emails coming together to paint a picture of “unbearable work conditions with endless crunch, harassment, abuse, corruption, and manipulation....
For the multiplayer sessions starting next month, the Age Of Empires team say player counts will be limited. “Our plan is to ramp up by first including fans of the original Age III, so the February session will include a limited number of invitations,” they say. Larger sessions will begin the following month in March. Players will also get the chance to give feedback on Age 3’s campaign, though they say those sessions will be limited to a “very small” group of players and only certain missions....
Point Defence will be an alternative to your usual Horde Mode shenanigans, where your fireteam needs to protect and repair three points while aliens come at you in waves.
