You can do this in Ghostwire: Tokyo by doing what I’ve been calling “the drippy thing”, which is techically when you use your exorcist powers to see the supernatural....

It’s their first go at real-time strategy, but it’s certainly got a hook. Publishers Bandai Namco explain that this new version “introduces a completely revamped and improved version of the fight system first introduced in 2013, upping the tempo with hit stops, dashes, intricate new combos, and an all-new ‘Support Attack’ tag-team battle system.” It also boasts new sound from the anime’s Japanese voice actors, plus “updated graphics to suit the anime’s art style”. I don’t know where the best place to play it anymore is, now that the Flash version won’t work in browsers, but you could do worse than giving KDice a try. It’s Dice Wars but with online multiplayer. I’ve played dozens and dozens of hours of Dice Wars against the AI, and only a couple of hours of KDice against real people. It does change things a lot. Not the underlying rules, which remain the same....

The punching game landed on the Epic Games Store as an exclusive back in February, and Sloclap have been releasing seasonal updates since. Arenas mode was originally targeted for winter 2022 in the Sifu roadmap shared in April, but it seems that slipped a little into next spring. Sloclap haven’t shared much yet about what you’ll do in arenas, other than punch and kick opponents to test their kung fu against yours....

The latest round of whispers doesn’t add much to previous KOTOR remake rumours. Bloomberg’s Jascon Schreier, a frequent rumourman, told the MinnMaxShow that yes, it’s real. Our corporate siblings at Eurogamer piped up to say they, like previous rumours, have also heard Aspyr are doing it. While Aspyr have mostly done ports before (including KOTOR for Mac and pocket telephones), they did remaster Indigo Prophecy are making games themselves nowadays....

If you’re unfamiliar with FromSoftware’s oeuvre, Dark Souls is a series of third-person adventure games famed for their punishing difficulty and obtuse narratives. I don’t know what it is about the series that makes my visual issues worse than other games. Perhaps it’s that everything’s an unsettling shade of grey or maybe I can no longer parse motion in artificial three-dimensional spaces. But when a Dark Souls enemy swings, I’m not seeing it clearly 80% of the time....

MultiVersus season one runs through to November 15th, and we’re still to see the arrival of two of the characters revealed so far for the game. That’d be Gremlins badboy Stripe and the DC Universe’s magical antihero Black Adam. While no fighters are confirmed for MultiVersus season two yet, The Joker is an eminently plausible pick. MultiVersus’ Batman strongly resembles his counterpart from The Animated Series, and Joker’s partner in crime Harley Quinn is already on the roster....

Audemus’ Happy Ending Mod (AHEM) is available from Nexus Mods, as spotted by PCGN and alters cutscenes, ending slides, and codex entries among other elements to give a more upbeat spin to the story. I won’t mention the main detail it changes in case you, like me, haven’t played it and don’t want spoilers, but you can click the Nexus link and find out more if you wish. Japan’s spears join a long line of geometric oddities popping up in Microsoft’s big digital planet Earth, including that massive void wot’s eating the heart of Brasil. Assuming these are glitches, of course - with everyone being indoors these days, who’s to tell these aren’t accurate terrors? Anyway. Japan’s “majestic peaks” were spotted by UnstableMisanthrope over on Reddit earlier this week, with our pals at PC Gamer providing the lovely gif above....

“Starting on August 1, the developer share of Microsoft Store PC games sales revenue will increase to 88%, from 70%,” said Sarah Bond, Microsoft’s head of game creator experience & ecosystem. “Having a clear, no-strings-attached revenue share means developers can bring more games to more players and find greater commercial success from doing so.” It is very interesting to see Microsoft happen to land on the same 88/12 split as the Epic Games Store....

In a note on the game’s Steam page (spotted by PC Gamer), Warner Bros. announced that the Nemesis Forge, Vendetta missions, Leaderboards, and the WBPlay network are all vanishing into the void at the end of this year. All players will, however, receive the Orc Hunter and Gravewalker epic runes for free. The Nemesis Forge allows players to transfer their top Nemesis and Followers from Shadow Of Mordor to its sequel Shadow Of War....

Neodash is a type of racing game that pops up relatively often; a time trial crossed with an obstacle course and a little of what I suppose is the endless runner. Picture Trackmania but with the courses condensed into short bursts of high speed dodging and you’re basically there. They’re often very throwaway and don’t really hold my interest for long. Neodash grabs hold immediately.
