FSR 2.0 looks to be a straight upgrade on the current 1.0 version, promising sharper picture quality with “optimised anti-aliasing” to better compete with the built-in, AI-assisted edge smoothing of DLSS. It will still need to be implemented in games by their developers, though – unlike RSR, which aims to work with just about any game by applying its upscaling algorithm at the GPU driver level. If RSR’s premise sounds familiar, it’s probably because of Nvidia Image Scaling (NIS), which released a few months back and performs almost exactly the same role: forgoing more high-tech upscaling techniques in favour of a universal approach that bypasses the need for native game support....

Cuttable tails were all the rage back in the original Dark Souls but now they’re lost to time, never to be seen again, just like the tails you cut off themselves. The gimmick of the Hidden Cup - as its name suggests - is that nobody will know who the competitors are until a winner is declared on Sunday (March 22nd). Eight of the world’s top AoE2 players were seeded into the tournament automatically, with a further eight making it in after a series of qualifiers held over the last few weeks. To people who follow pro AoE2, a lot of these players - The Viper, DauT, MBL, Hera and so on - are household names, but for the duration of Hidden Cup III, they’re playing under pseudonyms taken from hero units in AoE2 campaigns....

You won’t need a Steam Deck to play it, though, when it launches on March 1st. Here’s a short 30 second trailer: “Aperture Desk Job reimagines the been-there-done-that genre of walking simulators and puts them in the lightning-spanked, endorphin-gorged world of sitting still behind things,” says its Steam page. “You play as an entry-level nobody on their first day at work — your heart full of hope and your legs full of dreams, eager to climb that corporate ladder....

Except, Forge wasn’t who most Apex fans were expecting to see. Over the last few months, there have been easter eggs and teasers galore (not to mention some leaks and datamines) suggesting the edgy red Legend, Revenant, would be making a proper introduction to the games. At first glance it looks like he’s been left out, pushed back and forgotten about - but if you look a little deeper on EA’s website, it seems Revenant is still very much on the cards for Season 4....
