Buccaneers! isn’t primarily a piracy game, but they’re one of its four factions. CoD: Warzone boasts 150-player battles royale with three-player squads, going down on a map partially built from other CoD maps. Drop, loot, shoot, and pootle around in vehicles until everyone else is dead. It does have some options for revives, including buying squadmates back and something called ’the Gulag.’ Downed players get thrown in there and pitted against another corpse in a 1v1 fight to the redeath, with the grand prize of a second life....

As part of Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone’s midseason update beginning on 20th January, the game is getting a new Operator, a new weapon, and new Zombies things. But above all, it’s getting a 10-item Attack On Titan cosmetic bundle that has Operator Daniel Yatsu cosplay as a member of the Survey Corps (the folks who fight flesh giants with swords). It will set you back 2400CP, which is £16....

The new trailer below is light on story and pretty heavy on the driving but dang does the driving look nice. I’m not certain how much control you’ll have over the angle of your camera, but the trailer makes every option look like a good one. Looking straight behind Rania’s vehicle as it drives makes it feel like you’re actually inside the giant field of glowing buildings but the overhead angle lets you appreciate just how much of the city is below you as well....

“You and your friend are trapped in the realm of Castle Rock with no way out-were you betrayed, or simply not that clever?” Total Mayhem Games say. “Work together to explore and solve puzzles in this mysterious Antarctic adventure.” You’d think that explorers would stop getting themselves stuck in this darn castle, but it’s up to you to find a way out again. Total Mayhem say that We Were Here Forever will be the biggest game in the series so far, with new puzzles that will take you deeper into the castle than before....

Rebirth Island will be Warzone’s first new map since launch, and I reckon it looks a wee bit smaller than the current Verdansk map. Warzone is also getting a new mode named Resurgence, though Treyarch haven’t revealed exactly what it consists of just yet. It’s also getting new weapons and operators, as well as a “new Gulag experience”, which simply a new Gulag in which to 1v1 your enemies. Season 1 is a lovely joint event with Black Ops Cold War, too, so the newer game has its own share of nice new things on the way....

I don’t really have the option to have a piece of toast and watch the evening news, because when I’m not scanning my passport or estimating what worth to attach to my towels for the purposes of the shipping company’s insurance, I am packing said towels into boxes, along with everything else I own. For context, unmodded CK3 does allow for some same-sex relationships, but not same-sex marriage or concubinage. Players have been partially getting around this by using same-sex concubine mods, but modders have been unable to implement same-sex marriage at all (which is something they have been able to do in CK2). Now, according to a post on Paradox’s forums, the 1.3 patch which dropped on Monday has broken the concubine mods, causing them to trigger the error message: “Error: make_concubine effect [ Illegal concubinage: is the same gender as their concubinist, so they can’t become a concubine ]”....

In a slide from the investor call, “Development work on Cyberpunk 2077 expansion” and “Further support for Cyberpunk 2077” were two bulletpoints under the title “Production plans for 2022.” There was also reference to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next gen patch, and work at the newly acquired The Molasses Flood on an “unannounced project based on one of our franchises....

Other than the fact Ghostrunner 2 is in production, there’s no news on when it might be released. It’s very early days, so the devs haven’t got anything to show just yet. Instead, here’s former vid bud Matthew Castle (RPS in peace) chatting about the first game, with a bit of footage to refresh your memory of what Ghostrunner is all about. Ghostrunner came out in September 2020, and Matthew enjoyed it after he’d had some time to get used to the combat and abilities....

Following a more modern tradition, developers Dambusters revealed the news on Twitter with a JPG that’s difficult to read and has no alt text: “The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are,” says the message. “The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch....
