Monaco 2 is official That’s right. Pocketwatch Games’ 2013 heist ’em up Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine is getting a sequel. Lead designer Andy Schatz said he wanted to make “the ultimate heist simulator” with Monaco 2, and to do that he revealed the game will be moving to “3D environments that really focus on verticality”, allowing players to scale walls, tunnel underneath buildings and rappel down from the ceiling. Crucially, though, these procedurally generated spaces are still going to be viewed top-down like the original, thanks to a new kind of fancy camera tech they’re developing....

While bugfixes and minor tweaks will continue for the base game, the development team have turned their attention to what’s next. The forum post gives a frank assessment of the various options, from releasing free updates, making a sequel, or producing small DLC packs. The team prefer a fourth option, “one big expansion pack.” It’s too early for discuss any plans for what the expansion pack would contain, except that they have lots of ideas and “we don’t think that it will take less than a year to develop....

As seems to be the case every season, the new handful of Fall Guys levels look like total torture for those little bean folks. There’s anti-gravity. There are lasers. Oh dear, there are pinball flippers. Inevitably, I’ll fail to qualify entirely on new rounds when I’m just flabbergasted by the number of things going on. The upcoming update isn’t a level editor, but a settings editor. When you create a custom world, you’re given control of a range of options. You can let players place their camp down in previously restricted areas or make it so their build doesn’t require any electricity to run. You can enable complete building freedom, inviting towering, unsupported hovels to pop up. Game balance can also take a whack to the knees....

I’m already a little weird about buying battle passes, but a monthly subscription seems like… a lot, to me. In that same Twitter thread, some players suggest they wouldn’t mind paying around $8 to $10 a month, which is roughly what the battle pass costs....

Judging from the trailer some of these new furniture items include giant neon signs, retro arcade machines and some very uncomfortable-looking metal chairs....

Last night’s This Week At Bungie post revealed the new plan coming in with Season 13. Rather than get tokens from matches and bounties to cash in, we’ll instead have a progression track offering new rewards as our PvP Valor rank goes up. On our first climb up the ranks, we’ll get Upgrade Modules, Enchantment Cores, a seasonal shader, Enchantment prisms, an emblem, and an Ascendant Shard. After resetting the rank and restarting, the shader, emblem, and Ascendant Shard will be replaced with more Cores, Prisms, and an Exotic Engram....

Casting your mind back to 2010, you’ll mind that Amnesia: The Dark Descent’s popularity wasn’t just based off its then-novel horror campaign. Much of the game’s popularity with YouTubers was its support for custom maps, feeding us an endless supply of men in their 20s screaming at brand new scare-narios. Now, this year’s long-overdue sequel hopes to carry that legacy forwards with its own modding tools. Released last night, patch 1....

Rockstar announced shortly after midnight this morn that the PC Def Ed is now back on sale in the Rockstar Store. Yeah, they weren’t pulling it out of shame or to fix it, it’s still as busted as it was. Turns out it was just those files, I guess. Players discovered that as well as songs which weren’t meant to be in this version (presumably due to not having licenses), the download included uncompiled code complete with developer comments....

Rebirth is the co-op game’s fifth Rundown (developer 10 Chambers’ term for their content-wiping updates), and it went live last night. You can catch a glimpse of this slightly floral new zone, the Floodways, in the trailer below. Players will also be able to find artifacts that are sought after by The Warden (“the mysterious entity that is keeping you prisoner”). Your reward for grabbing these will be a lovely brain injection called a Booster that will enhance your abilities on subsequent trips to the Complex....

The new world of Cantha has been magically locked away for centuries, which provides the Guild Wars 2 designers with plenty scope to bring new features to the game. The Siege Turtle, a new mount for two players, is the first multiplayer mount of the game. God was angry when he created it, my friends. A giant turtle, turrets and weapons grafted onto its sandpapery hide. The map is dotted with islands, which means watercraft is the preferred method of travel....
