Blizzard haven’t issued a formal statement to clarify what they mean by an “impacted player experience” at the moment, but I’d imagine that you’re probably looking at significantly longer load times rather than anything else. Still, the fact that Blizzard are now actively encouraging players to move their game over to an SSD rather than stick with their previous 7200 RPM HDD requirement suggests that HDD players could be looking at spending a large portion of their time twiddling their thumbs when Shadowlands launches on October 27th, so you should probably still think about getting one if you haven’t taken the plunge already....

Season 7, Ascension, brings in Olympus - a big beautiful city in the sky. When I played a preview of Season 7, I thought the clean open spaces were so much more interesting than the rocky lava zones we’ve seen so far on the old maps. Demon Turf’s art style was what grabbed my attention. I really dig the N64-esque 3D, 2D mashup, with all its vibrant animations and environments. I put some time into the demo and can confirm, the way the NPCs and enemies bob, laugh, and attack has real character. But let’s get into the platforming. Which, hoo boy, does it feel good. The Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition was announced during Acer’s virtual Next@Acer event, alongside a handful of other new gaming gear from the Predator and Nitro ranges. It’s by far the most ambitious of the lot, incorporating the stereoscopic 3D tech that Acer first introduced on their creative-focused ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition notebook last year. Activision warned cheaters yesterday about incoming anti-cheat news for Call Of Duty, which they’ve today announced as Ricochet. They’re calling the systerm a “multi-faceted approach to combat cheating, featuring new server-side tools which monitor analytics to identify cheating, enhanced investigation processes to stamp out cheaters, updates to strengthen account security, and more.” Additional server-side protections against cheaters are coming first this year, starting with Vanguard and then Warzone. However, Activision spend the majority of their post explaining and defending the kernel-level driver that will be introduced second....
