To be more specific than its own name, MST is a “tactical RPG with roguelike elements.” You’ll move around a grid-based battlefield, firing upon and tossing grenades at enemies, and building up your adrenaline bar to unlock super attacks. You gain experience after each mission that can be used to unlock weapons and perks for your squad. I’m not clear what happens when you fail a mission, but the level layouts are procedurally generated....

Evidence on the potential effects of combining Activision Blizzard’s products with Microsoft’s console, cloud and PC businesses had been provided to the first phase of the CMA’s investigation, which they felt could damage competition in the developing cloud gaming market....

Microsoft confirmed the news in their Game Stack Live presentation last night during the live chat, and that a limited Developer Preview of DirectStorage will be available sometime later this summer. It’s not all bad. Morsels look pretty strong now. The headline feature doesn’t actually grab me, even though the 35 mutators do sound fun. You can slap on up to three of them on before you start a singleplayer run, and they do all sorts. You can let normal shops clone your cards. You can make it so all your units descend a level every turn, and double all your money gains....

Bannerlord does have multiplayer, but it’s limited to specific modes rather than the full world-roaming experience. And certainly not on this scale. The idea is to have hundreds of players filling the roles usually taken by NPC leaders. The devs say on the Mod DB page that it has a player-controlled economy, with players toiling in the fields and such to produce raw materials that others can turn into the food, weapons, and armour needed by armies....

As you can probably guess from the name, Psykers are mental powerhouses with psychic powers. They aren’t much liked by other humans in the Imperium but, if nothing else, they’re valued for what their abilities can do. Psykers don’t like other people much either, including other Psykers. A Psyker’s powers are derived from something called the Warp, which charges as they kill enemies. Members of the Psyker class are what’s called psykinetic, which sounds a little more violent than your standard telekinesis, and they can do things such as bursting the brains of enemies with this power....

Then it’s a case of assessing all the shiny loot you’ve hoovered up, slapping on the good stuff, and going again....

OlliOlli World is so good it will give you blisters. I know because I got one. It’s an honest-to-god skin burp, a purpling speck on the tip of my thumb. You can only play this nippy skate ’em up with a controller, and 40 compulsive hours of light joystick abrasions have stacked up. Flick the left thumbstick in any direction to do a trick. Flick down for an ollie, flick left for a kickflip, and so on....
