Valve’s first roleplaying game never actually left the conceptual stage, so it never even got a name - they simply refer to it as “RPG”. Halo Infinite’s winter update is the biggest one the game’s seen since it launched in late 2021. Via the bizarre magical shorthand we’ve all come to accept from the term “crafting”, you conjure your accumulated trove of flotsam into more and more fancy objects, including nets that automatically honk wood and stuff out of the sea for you....
The Turing Test is also a first-person puzzler made by Bulkhead Interactive, and it is the same. It’s very Portal. You’re pitted against a series of glistening test chambers, with unkempt machinery occasionally intruding through an access hatch. These puzzles can’t be solved by robots, apparently, which is the whole reason your crewmates have built them. They don’t want the AI you’re hooked up to getting in. Problem is, at one point your HAL pal demonstrates that it totally could solve them....
Among Us is the perfect distillation of social deduction games like Mafia and Werewolf, best played with a squad of pals while talking on Discord and abiding by an agreement where dead men tell no tales and literally any action can make you kinda sus. As someone who bloody loves it when someone decides to run a game of mafia in a group setting, Among Us scratches an itch not many popular video games have before....

Developer Tango Gameworks shadow-dropped the rhythm-action game out of nowhere shortly after an Xbox presentation, jettisoning The Evil Within’s murky mental hospitals and Ghostwire: Tokyo’s supernatural shinanigans for something markedly different: bright pulsating neon colours and a gang of loveable anime ruffians, where every whack and dodge is underscored by a beat. Hi-Fi Rush is an action-adventure game with a mechanical core fuelled by musical beats....
Both game reveals were slipped in as part of this week’s Intel Innovation event, which primarily catered to developers but gave some brief glimpses of XeSS in action. Well, sort of. Both Hitman 3 and The Riftbreaker were indeed shown running at 4K with XeSS enabled, and apparently on Arc Alchemist graphics hardware to boot, but in both cases were compared to…how they look at 1080p? I guess it might make sense to demonstrate that 4K with XeSS runs comparably well to 1080p with conventional AA, but there’s no frame rate info to compare....

It’s claimed that Sony’s chosen to partner with NCsoft on the Horizon MMO project to “penetrate the global game market”, which arrow-shooting protagonist Aloy would probably approve of as a big enough target. NCsoft’s internal team will allegedly handle the MMO’s development. The source suggested this was just a “first collaboration" and that, if the project is successful, NCsoft might be entrusted with turning other Sony intellectual properties into MMOs....

How to unlock two free Powerpasses in Lost Ark Engravings are activated via “nodes,” which are effectively points invested towards a level of an Engraving. This is what trips most players up at lower levels; having nodes for an Engraving does not automatically activate that Engraving effect. Each Engraving has three levels, which require 5, 10, and 15 nodes to activate. An Engraving is not active unless it is at least level 1....
