Distant Kingdoms is an early access city builder - a little feature-light in some places right now, but with an imaginative angle I am enjoying a lot. Today’s stream announced that Arma Reforger is available now in early access on Steam and is bringing the series to console for the first time through Game Preview on Xbox Series X/S. Arma 4 is coming, by the way, but Bohemia have yet to set a real date for when that will be, telling RPS that development is “ongoing”. They also describe Arma Reforger as a “work-in-progress”. In its just-released early access version, there are two multiplayer modes to battle in across the 164 square kilometres of map: team-versus-team in ‘Conflict’ and a scenario editor that operates in real-time called ‘Game Master’....

Season one was previously planned for December 10th, but Activision have announced today that it’s getting scooched back just a bit. They’re calling it “the largest free content drop in Black Ops history,” integrating operators, weapons, and progression between Cold War and Warzone. Activision remind players that season one will bring a new map to Warzone, which dataminers believe they’ve uncovered and identified it as Rebirth Island. Activision also say that Warzone players have “a new Gulag experience” to look forward to....
As reported by ModernWarzone, the Doritos image was sent to TheGamingRevolution, and shows a promo for unlocking double XP for a year in COD Black Ops Cold War. What’s interesting is that in the small print it says the promo kicks off on October 5th, but, of course, the game would need to be out for the promo to come into effect right? Well then, it’s pretty convenient that October-time is in line with previous release dates for the series....

Gato started off with a couple screenshots showing three possible animals for their rangers to pair up with: a rabbit, boar, and deer. They’ve floated the full list now, and I find myself amused by the variety. You’ll also be able to choose a dog, wolf, bear, raven, jay, panther, spider, dragon, or drake. Obviously bears are the only right choice for companions though. Mostly, Gato describe each animal with a quick couple words on their obvious features....

It’s not clear to me how much benefit this offers to players over and above free services already available.
