Cyberpunk 2077 Breaks Steam Record

Cyberpunk 2077’s peak player count hit a whopping 1,003,264 last night, and it’s still going strong at the time of writing too, with 935,039 current players on Steam (and likely climbing). And let’s not forget, these big boy numbers don’t even take into account the mass of players on other platforms like GOG and the Epic Games Store. Now cut to me still trying to finish The Witcher 3, curled up in my chair, and crumbling to dust....

Death S Door Review

Until Betty shows up. Betty is barbarous. She comes towards the tail end of this 12-15 hour story, in which a young crow is trying to bring balance to a weird corvid institution that governs life and death. Betty is an outlier. A big, hairy, Yeti-shaped outlier, who stinks. But let’s put her to one side to talk about the rest of this handsome, musically gifted adventure. Your silent crowtagonist is working as a reaper of souls, and an important soul has been stolen....

Desperados 3 S Next Trailer Lets You Choose Tactics

The first video in the sequence of gameplay trailers lets you choose to break into a guarded fort the loud or quiet way. Try it for yourself now if you like, before I just go on and tell you what happens. If you’re loud, gun slingin’ protagonist John Cooper rushes in to toss a knife, gets seen by a guard, and then has to take on the reinforcements with the help of strong man Hector Mendoza....

Destiny 2 S Crimson Days Brought Another Rollback

Destiny 2’s weekly reset came at 5:00pm on Tuesday, bringing with it hotfix 2.7.1.1 with a few bug fixes (not including the infinite Dawnblade supers). Some players experienced a familiar sinking feeling when they saw their spacebank balance and… oh no. Bungie took Destiny 2 offline for emergency maintenance at 6:30, to fix the bug and roll back characters, then it came back minutes after midnight. All in all, the game was down for five-and-a-half hours and players lost two hours of progress from them....

Discord Wants To Help People Isolated By The Coronavirus

Discord’s Go Live feature lets you stream your desktop or games to other people on the server, similar to Twitch but private. With people increasingly turning to Discord for non-gaming needs, this is also handy for things like school and business presentations or just lookin’ at stuff together. “We know a lot of you around the world are currently using Discord to keep in touch and perform daily tasks from keeping up with classes to working from home,” Discord’s statement said....

Dog Photography Em Up Pupperazzi Is Out In Two Weeks

Pupperazzi is one of those games that simply is what it appears to be. Set in a world populated entirely by dogs, your task is to walk, explore, and take photos of them. There are lots of different kinds of dogs, and the Steam store page lists shibas, terries, labradors, pugs, with more promised. Your camera is suitably tricked out so you can add filters and change lenses to get the best shots while the dogs mill around, riding bicycles, riding in minecarts, and so on....

Drainus Isn T Quite Special But Sure Is Swish

It’s more than just stylish, too. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m bad enough at scrolling shooters, and outright averse to bullet hell, to make me less than an authority on which are the best. But Drainus held my attention for long enough that you should definitely give it a chance. I’m not going to do a pun about the name. I’m not. I’m definitely not.

Early Black Friday Deals Cut 50 35 Off One Of The Fastest Gaming Ssds

UK deal: US deal: Ebuyer, the teases, also have the Black SN850X’s 2TB model on a Black Friday deal for £158 – except it’s sold out. Can’t blame the folks who bought one, of course. The closest rival to this SSD, the Samsung 990 Pro, costs £160 for its 1TB version. Samsung’s drive is faster on read speeds, which are more useful to games, but double the capacity for £2 less?...

The official patch notes list the following as the main targets of Elden Ring version 1.02: The v1.02 console patch notes are basically the same, if that’s your bag, with the addition of a fix for the Xbox wireless headset. Happily playing pre-patch, our Ed’s spoiler-avoiding Elden Ring review called the latest game from the makers of Dark Souls “an unmissable journey through the most impressive open world to date....

We discuss whether any MacGuffin is improved by replacing it with an egg (yes), why a lot of games have souls as MacGuffins, and what our own personal MacGuffins would be. Plus! Impressions of Henry “Vitamin H” Cavill, and sensational new character Sir Terence Plunder. Will Sir T become a podcast regular? Only time will tell. Elite Dangerous Is Free Today On The Epic Games Store

Elite lets you choose your own space path. You can mine, fight, explore, or a mix of all three. There are factions to join, deliveries to make, and sights to see. Most people play it like a space trucker. I got heavily into Elite Dangerous for a spell this year. Not really as a game, but as a career. I went mining. Hunting down low-temperature diamonds in asteroid fields, drifting along in VR, spinning my joystick around on the quest for space bucks....

Endling Is A Game About A Mama Fox Protecting Her Cubs In A Human Ravaged World

The game starts as a sort-of linear side-scrolling adventure, before turning into more of a sandbox experience. Your main goal is to look after your little fox babies, and you’ll need to venture out from your fox hole to find food for them. Then as the game progresses, you’ll need to go to new areas to find other places to take shelter too. It looks similar to Shelter, a game about a mama badger looking after her own cubs....

Euro Truck Simulator 2 Now Has Fancier Lighting And A Fancier Germany

The new lighting has required a huge effort to tweak and re-do loads of assets, and SCS explained that “the majority of all our teams had to stop working on anything else related to our future projects” so they could chip in. The new system isn’t quite physically based rendering but does take a big step in that direction. SCS said, “Cleaning up the old art and basing all light intensities and operations on fundamental physics make future systemic work in this area finally possible....

Fail To Feel Young Again With Hyper Echelon

I’m pretty bad at them as well, which doesn’t help. Mostly though, I became jaded and curmudgeonly at around nine years old, and will never know such naive wonder again. Still, Hyper Echelon is fun.

Along with the free to play week, anyone subscribing to Game Pass can claim a free month of Fallout 1st membership. That’s Bethesda’s controversial subscription service for Fallout 76, which gives access to private servers, unlimited in-game storage, and an allowance of the game’s Atoms currency. If you play Fallout 76 then at least you’re getting a few Atoms for nowt out of that. Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker Review A Stellar Expansion

FFXIV is unique among MMOs in that its story is very much the focus over rushing to gear up for endgame raiding, though that’s great too. After 10 years of restarts and expansions, Endwalker is the final chapter in the tale of opposing gods Hydaelyn and Zodiark, and after the excellent Shadowbringers expectations are high. Horrible towers have appeared all around the world ushering in an apocalypse called The Final Days so you and your fellow Scions set off to stop it....

Fly A Plane In Gta By Pretending To Be A Plane With Kinect

I do like that the gesture to bail out is throwing your hands up above your head as if trying to punch out the canopy of a fighter jet. Kicking to pull up the landing gear is a great move too. Beyond that, it’s fairly simple: stretch your arms out like an airplane to crank the throttle, lean back and forward to control pitch, to the sides to control yaw and turn, and hard to the sides to roll....

For Honor Ditches Its Year Pass For A Battle Pass In This The Year Of Reckoning

There’s plenty for Ubi to get through in Year 4, and only a four-minute trailer to do it in. Chop chop! Alright, let’s start with the big’un. For Honor is ditching its tried-and-tested Year Pass, which offered up a year’s worth of new heroes for a set fee. Instead, the game’s hopping onto the battle pass trebuchet.
