The leaked images emerged on Twitter over the weekend from a cloud security researcher called @GarnetSunset, where they handily included the existing RTX 2080 for scale. And man alive, just look at the size of that thing. As the tweet below states, the RTX 3090 will likely be a triple-slot GPU rather than the usual two, although its apparent price of $2000 was quickly revised down to (a still eye-watering) $1400 in a later tweet....

Observer is a first-person horror game starring Rutger “sobs in the fog” Hauer as a detective whose speciality is jacking into people’s minds to uncover evidence. This can be pretty grim in our grim cyberpunk future, and a real nightmare if you crack the cranium of a corpse. It’s a good game. System Redux builds on that with three extra side-cases to solve, remastered graphics, improvements to the shonky stealth, more secrets, and other bits and pieces....

I cannot promise I will keep to any kind of regular schedule on this, but I’m going to shoot for every fortnight. And I’ve got some fun ones to kick off with as well. A good varied spread. A buffet of sandwiches with different indie fillings for different appetites: fast-paced abstract runner game Nerve, atmospheric 2D action platformer Olija, and extremely chill clicky puzzle game Down In Bermuda. You can catch the listing for Echoes Of The Eye on SteamDB. There’s no real info on there other than the fact it was first added to the database on April 28th. The name does suggest the DLC could have something to do with the Eye Of The Universe, a distant object in the solar system that it’s your ultimate goal to reach. Everything you do in Outer Wilds is to find out what happened to the failed expedition that tried to get there before you....

The googly update must’ve happened last night, because when I logged in I was met with this lovely image of Doomfist. At first I thought that perhaps Blizzard had just stuck them on the special Overwatch League Doomfist skin they’re advertising on the menu screen. And then I loaded into a game. I almost didn’t notice at first. The eyes on most characters are so small you almost can’t see them wobbling all over the place....

In today’s teaser, Dr. Liao, co-founder of the fictional Overwatch, reminisces during what were probably her final moments about her life’s work completing Echo. Blizzard’s description of the blue-faced AI is pretty vague so far: “An evolutionary robot programmed with a rapidly adapting artificial intelligence, Echo represents the cutting edge of technology.” Imogen speculated about Echo just a few days ago and although we’ve got the confirmation she predicted, the other details are still up in the air....

The remaster doesn’t exactly add to Inaba’s appeal, as Katharine has already written. This is one of those ports where the resolution hike strips the original assets of charm, roughening the edges of the cardboard grass and exposing the gaps between tiles on the map screen (the gorgeous anime portraits in dialogue come off rather better). The bareness of the porting suits the setting’s naffness, however – it’s appropriate that these environments feel out of date, like they’ve had the dust blown off them by an unscrupulous vendor....

Here’s the trailer announcing the news as shown during tonight’s Microsoft conference: Persona 5 Royal is the polished and expanded edition of Persona 5, and was previously only released for PlayStation 4 (and playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility). Royal added new characters, locations and events to an already pretty big game. Persona 3 Portable, meanwhile, is an expanded and polished version of Persona 3 which was originally released for the PSP back in 2009....

Phantasy Star Online 2 launches on Steam alongside the North American release of Episode 4 - a very silly story update wot pits a fleet of sci-fi mechs from outer space against some old Japanese boats on more terrestrial oceans. While this whole western launch is ostensibly the same North American edition of PSO2 that hit the Windows Store earlier this year, I’m assured by RPS contributor Dominic Tarason’s tweets that Steam treats the game as a proper international release....

You go around a house, with the lights off, and try and find a ghost using various ghost findering tools. It has so far proven very popular, and I can see the appeal. I mean, there’s no point playing it in single player, obviously, but I played a small bit with VidBud Colm and when it was working properly, it was pretty good. It’s just it wasn’t working properly for us very often....

When a member of the Finch family dies, see, their bedroom is preserved as a shrine, each generation requiring a new extension. What a house! What Remains is building on the bones of games like Gone Home, a first-person explore-o-story set around a single home....

Here’s the announcement trailer: Road 96 had seven different hitchhikers you could pick up, although of the set Zoe was arguably the main character. Kaito, her friend from a poor part of the same city, is an all-new character. Mile 0 seems set to explore their relationship, their “opposite backgrounds and beliefs”, and to offer a reason for why Zoe leaves for the road trip she’s on in Road 96....

It’s a bit of a odd one, this, especially after the super-straightforward God of War PC port. Several graphical components that levy a big performance tax in most games, like shadows, seem to barely affect how Extraction runs even with clear visual differences between the quality levels. And one of the most impactful settings is solely dedicated to a sticky black goop. PC gaming is weird. Still, once you know which setting does what, it’s easy enough to find a healthy balance between frames per second and tacticool post-invasion aesthetics....

To be honest, my main goal was to find out if Caveria would be able to tackle aliens to the ground and interrogate them, but it sounds like they probably won’t be doing that (which is a missed opportunity, if you ask me - one of her abilities in Siege is that she can question downed enemies to reveal player locations). For context, in Rainbow Six Extraction you’ll be able to play as a number of operators from Rainbow Six Siege, going on missions to figure out and fight against an alien threat....

Razer have made some of the best gaming mice and best gaming keyboards, so it will be interesting to see how its first major components (if we’re not counting the Tomahawk chassis series or the Chroma RGB controller) turn out. RazerCon also served as the launchpad for a host of other snake-embossed kit, including a set of Kraken V3 headsets with majorly upgraded HyperSense haptic feedback. Personally I’m most intrigued by the Hanbo CPU coolers, which come in 240mm and 360mm radiator versions with addressable RGB throughout....

Of course, £500 is still quite a lot compared to other 1440p monitors out there, and I should point out that my current 1440p recommendation, the AOC Agon AG273QX, can currently be had for £100 less over at Currys PC World. Still, there’s something about the Raptor 27 that’s just so darn lovely. Maybe it’s the fabric-covered back. Or the super accurate IPS panel. No, wait, I’m not going to lie....

It’s a puzzle game in which the land underneath you is made of large tiles. You play as Carto, a cute little explorer with the power to rearrange those tiles, which opens up new paths to help you get home, and helping out lots of people along the way. There’s a Tove Jansson feel to the art, particularly Carto herself. I love the trees, which are made of a big single leaf, and the way her little feet slap gently on the ground....
