Population Zero takes place on the planet Kepler which apparently has large beasties like the one above. Seems to be a horrific nonsensical creature that procedural generation loves and actual nature loves to hate, which is where I’m getting the No Man’s Sky vibes. That and the blue grass. Players will build bases and craft things, as one does, to survive on Kepler. The important part is that you’ve got a time limit and it does not wait for you to log in....

It was interesting, you know, seeing your reactions to last month’s remaster of Total War: Rome, a game originally released during actual Roman times when centurions walked the earth. I learned there were more people than I thought, for whom the entire Total War experience peaked in those long ago days of the early 2000s. Townscaper is about pulling little towns from the sea. You playfully, experimentally click to make the buildings grow, and procedural magic forms stairs, windows, and rooftops around your clicks. It’s a big box of jumbled lego to click together and see what you make. It was updated steadily through early access before its final August launch. One player called Simonokles took to Discord on behalf of their friend who experiences arachnophobia.
