I also like really weird, silly concepts presented with a straight face. And so if ever a game was tailor-made for me, it’s Fight Crab - a game where you can play as any one of a suite of realistically-modelled crabs, using knives, hammers, revolvers and more to battle with other crabs....
I understand FF6 (released in North America under the name FF3 initially, because reasons) is the one many admire most from ye olde games. All I know is that it has a clown, and you can suplex a train. That Twitter video proved minorly controversial (in that ‘yeah but 90% just joshing’ sorta way) because in the original, the train flipped when suplex. Squeenix reassured people that they were still working on the game, that this video was from a pre-release version, and that they would adjust it in time for launch....

I’ve a soft spot for Streum On. They started as a Half-Life mod team (making Syndicate Black Ops) and it showed. E.Y.E. was such a bold debut, a sprawling dystopian FPS-RPG with a great many moving parts. It’s janky, no doubt, but it fizzes with ideas enough that I still smile remembering it. That’s a Eurojank energy I want in video games. And, well, Focus Home are no strangers to over-ambitious games....

Epic have pulled the “Out West” emote, which plays a sample of music from Travis Scott’s song of the same name, though they didn’t provide a reason as to why. According to players on Reddit, the emote had been available in that section over the weekend. Epic Games have now temporarily disabled the Daily section of Fortnite’s item shop completely, and will turn it back on with the next Item Shop refresh....
For £10/€12/$12 each month, Fortnite Crew members will get ‘Monthly Crew Packs’. These contain an exclusive new outfit with at least one accessory, access to the latest battle pass (which cost about £6, and usually run for three months), and 1000 V-Bucks (£6.50 in real money) to spend on cosmetics in the microtransaction sure. The game’s still free-to-play, not charging for access or anything, just perks and prestige. Epic say that items from the Crew Packs “will never be sold or given away to non-Crew members....
Belting along to a bloody awful ska-punk rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, the shiny metallic supercars and pimped-out hot rod racers zoom around the day-glo tracks. They zip past lava bubbling up from volcanoes and over snowy mountains, doing loop after loop after loop. It looks astonishingly fast, but it’s also rather vertiginous. There’s 125 miles of track, including magnetic, ice, water flume and rumbling versions. Microsoft say that this is the first Forza expansion you can play from start to finish in co-op....
Xbox Game Studios and Turn 10 say that FM7 is officially being delisted from the Microsoft Store and being pulled from Xbox Game Pass as of September 15th, 2021. “Players who already own Forza Motorsport 7 will still be able to download and play the game and its associated content as normal,” they explain. “In addition, features like multiplayer and online services will still be accessible for those who own the game....

Darkplace is a six episode comedy show that originally came out in 2004 on Channel 4. It is presented as a rerun of some episodes of a lost, low-budget horror show from the 80s, written by and starring cult horror author Garth Marenghi - a sort of Twilight Zone rip-off set in a hospital. The show as it aired in 2004 frames this as a totally real archival treasure, and there are occasional talking heads discussing the making of Darkplace from Garth and his publisher Dean Learner....
In a blog post, Splash Damage say their current project is set in “an original sci-fi universe”, though they don’t give much info beyond that. They’re currently hiring for a bunch of roles, the descriptions for which say they’re transitioning their devs to work on Unreal Engine 5. This comes almost a year after Tencent bought Splash Damage (and Digital Extremes). At the time, Splash Damage said the acquisition would allow them “to operate as an independent entity within the Tencent family, while we get to leverage their expertise to allow us to build even greater games as we move into our third decade”....

Here’s the video: Heizou is a four-star character you’ll be able to pull for Kazuha and Klee’s banners, and the first melee Catalyst-using character to be added to the game. Catalysts are one of the five weapon types of Genshin Impact. The banner will also bring a new chance to pull fellow four-star Fischl with a new outfit, idle animations and effects, as well as new storylines for Kazuha, Xinyan, Fischl and Mona, and a new outfit for Diluc....
I say “of sorts” because the trailer doesn’t give much of a sense of what form the project will take. The camera swoops through various locations familiar from the game, and we get a glimpse of floating squeak imp Paimon and the twin, one of whom players choose to be their protagonist in the game. Beyond that, HoyoVerse didn’t say anything about what the anime’s plot might be. Given it’s described as a “long-term project”, the ambiguity might be because those decisions haven’t been made yet....

Well, this £1050 graphics card has dropped precipitously in price, and now costs just £743 in the current deal. That’s less than £100 below the RRP of the vanilla RTX 3080, set before the great GPU shortage, and consequently this is a solid deal on a card that is within a couple of percentage points of the RTX 3090, and a good 10% ahead of the standard 3080 with a little more RAM....
