Available in both black and white designs, the Logitech G203 Lightsync ticks a lot of boxes for those after a cheap and cheerful gaming mouse. It has six programmable buttons (including the scroll wheel) that you can either use straight out of the box or customise yourself using Logitech’s free G Hub software, and its so-called “gaming grade sensor” (Logitech haven’t said whether it qualifies as one of their Hero sensors or not yet) has a maximum sensitivity speed of 8000 DPI....

Magic: Legends will have us bash and zap monsters as different classes of Planeswalker, the all-powerful wizards we play as in the card game. Magic’s five elements of magic are here formalised into classes, like the Mind or Geomancer. It looks like wizards will still be summoning creatures like their cardboard counterparts. It’s an action-RPG game set in the fictional worlds of Magic rather than an attempt to capture the card game in action-RPG form, which is reasonably the only way they could do this - though a bit of a shame to me....
I’ll be singing that in my head all day. Marvel Snap’s battle mode was part of the development roadmap that Second Dinner shared when the game launched last month. Instead of the quick battling of ranked mode, battle mode will involve multiple matches against friends until one player’s health pool goes kaput. Marvel Snap’s snapping system, which lets players bet they’ll win so they can score more ranking points from matches, is slightly different in battle mode – you’ll bet health instead of rank....
I’m therefore pleased to learn of how Mass Effect Legendary Edition will tweak the first game to make it more consistent with its sequels. A new blog post on the RPG remaster’s official site goes into detail on how they’re tuning combat, boss fights and the Mako “without outright scrapping the spirit of the original games.” It seems that combat is where the biggest changes will lie. “Mass Effect was heavily influenced by traditional RPG mechanics, like the randomness of a dice roll and pen-and-paper stat building....

So! With World Update 3, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London and Oxford have all been redone using photogrammetry so they should look a lot more like themselves. Better elevation information should make the whole landscape of the UK look nicer too. And 70-odd landmarks now have custom models, including seaside attractions such as Blackpool Tower and Southend Pier, sculptures like The Kelpies and Angel of the North, lots of castles, a few skyscrapers, some sports stadiums, landscapes like Killarney National Park and the white cliffs of Dover, and a whole lot of bridges....
Minecraft height limit: how high can you build in 1.18? For years, the height limit in Minecraft was left untouched, with no indication that it would be raised again. It used to be between the Y-Levels of 0 and 255, with 0 being an impassable layer of bedrock, and 255 being the ceiling of the sky. As of Minecraft 1.18, the height limit has been changed to 319, and the lower limit is now -64....
That is the problem with MiniLAW: Ministry of Law, the hectic dystopian action game from Lasso Games. It is very nearly excellent, but frequently undermines itself with terrible controls. You are essentially Judge Dredd, with a hint of a whirry Robocop. A future cop and occasional executioner in a suit of power armour, with a flying car and a techno-magical handgun. Urgent crimes appear on a map as glowing red city blocks, which you fly to and investigate, dropping out of the sky with a satisfying pull on an eject handle....

“After learning of his grandfather’s mysterious death in a fire, the protagonist travels to Mundaun for the first time since childhood,” say Hidden Fields. “He will soon discover that something old and diabolical is haunting the remaining inhabitants.” You’ll solve puzzles and uncover secrets during your trek up Mundaun mountain, if the creepy local legends don’t snatch you first, that is. “The past and its buried secrets are a big theme throughout Mundaun,” developer Michel Ziegler told RPS in 2018, unearthing the folk horror of Mundaun....
“It will be the biggest and most detailed location ever,” Battlestate COO Nikita Buyanov said on the PC Gaming Show today. “There will be a lot of explorable buildings and grounds. It’s an attempt to simulate the city, the realistic modern city.” A location like this does seem important for contrast. The game’s set in a Russian region which collapsed so hard that civilians fled and armed factions took over, but it doesn’t have that full vibe if you’re mostly poking around warehouses and the occasional run-down shopping centre (which, really, you can find on any British high street)....
Roller Drama apparently throws in some visual novel elements, as well as the bits where you skate for glory (although it should be noted this is not a roller derby simulator and has slightly different rules to the IRL sport). You, Joan, live with your team of five skaters, and have to manage both their personal and professional lives, balancing their emotional states with being “kickass athletes”. This sounds like, in almost all contexts outside of a sports video game, a terrible set up, and on no account should you enter into a situation like that in your real life....

When it comes to chaos, no game does it better than Noita. Noita’s main brag is that “every pixel is simulated”. What this means is that the world around you isn’t constructed from immovable chunks, but individual pixels, and those pixels collapse and react as individual entities. This places a robust and logical simulation at the game’s core. Dirt tumbles, liquids slosh about. Oil floats to the top of water....
Here’s the launch trailer: Alice B reckoned the game’s demo was one of the best of the recent Steam festival, saying that it was fun and that she “could tell in a hot second that loads of you are going to bloody love this game.” I don’t know if I’ll love it, but I look of its zippy, hacky melee combat, and of its thin pixel art characters. I like these things precisely because they seem modern rather than retro....
