The battle pass rework for MultiVersus season 2 adds rewards to every tier of the pass, which means there’s no gaps anymore. Devs Player First Games say they’ve adjusted the points needed to complete each tier to make the battle pass more “engaging and rewarding”. The update’s new in-game store hoovers up all the various cosmetics and characters scattered around MultiVersus and bungs them into one central location, which I guess makes nabbing those a little easier....

Sorry to all you folks who invested in curved monitors, I guess. The new Myst island does look rather lovely, even if the trailer doesn’t show any actual gameplay. The devs say it includes “new art, sound, interactions, and even optional puzzle randomisation”, and there are some very pretty screenshots on the website (though, I’ll pop a few below for your perusal). Myst is set to arrive after the launch of the Oculus Quest 2 this December....
I’ve never found that style of cartoon attractive, but I do think they’ve done a good job with it. So, Mythforce is a first-person dungeon-crawler focused on melee and magic, with four classes (Knight, Rogue, Mage, Hunter, you know how it goes). In that roguelikelike fashion, you’re delving into a dungeon with runs that result in persistent progression. And it supports four-player cooperative multiplayer, which is nice. Mythforce will enter early access on the Epic Games Store next Wednesday, 20/4....
Ubi say the September Ubisoft Forward will include looks at “what’s in store for games like Watch Dogs: Legion, Hyper Scape, and Rainbow Six Siege, as well as a much-anticipated update on our new IP, Immortals Fenyx Rising, formerly known as Gods & Monsters, and more yet-to-be revealed surprises.” When Ubisoft announced Gods & Monsters Immortals Fenyx Rising back in June 2019, they described it as “an open world action adventure game full of epic battles and quests” with dungeons, mythical monsters, and such....
No Man’s Sky added the ability to ride planetary critters quite a while ago, but you can now ride even more of them. “Low-flying creatures, such as giant beetles, flying worms, and huge butterflies, can now be adopted as your companion,” Hello Games say. Just look at all the silly flying creatures the game has cooked up for folks to mount. This new trailer shows a goofy, green space worm thing....
From trailers, the game looks like Firewatch. You’re in woodland, there’s a woman’s voice at the end of a radio, and you’re investigating a mystery. They’re very different games beyond that, however. Here the mystery is explored by positioning cameras to chart the squirrels’ activities during the day, then reviewing the footage from your caravan at night. Given it’s about time in Nvidia’s preferred biannual cycle for a new graphics card generation, and it being the GeForce account rather than one of Nvidia’s non-gaming brands, and Nvidia also dropping the cryptic stuff and just straight-up confirming a “GeForce Beyond” show on the 20th, you can bet your sweet memory bus that September 20th will see some kind of RTX GPU announcement. The RTX 30 series, which has contributed most of the past two years’ best graphics cards, will finally begin its journey into semi-retirement....

The most immediately arresting thing about this floaty, oboe-heavy platformer, the sequel to 2015’s darling Ori And The Blind Forest, is its art style. Ori is mesmerizingly pretty, to the extent where, after having played for far too many hours on end, and seeing a big skulky wolf in the background, I actually tried to call my dog over to look at the screen, because nobody else was home to admire it....
Archives is Overwatch’s annual co-op event, one where Blizzard goes all Left 4 Dead on their superhero shooter by pitting four players against a flood of killer cyborgs or Talon goons, depending on the event. There are usually two versions of each to check out - one “canonical” version with set characters, and a more freeform mode where you can break history by playing any character you like - each with a set of difficulties to choose from....

So when I learned that the developers who did Tropico 6 are working on a theme park management game, I think I’d be forgiven for expecting a similar, tyrannical approach. But that’s not the vibe for Park Beyond, announced yesterday at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live and set for release next year. At least, it’s mostly not that kind of vibe. Stephan Winter, CEO at Limbic Entertainment does say that you can charge people for using the toilets, and could set the price at a pretty despotic level if you wanted to....
Pathfinder is a fantasy RPG originally based on 3rd edition D&D rules, and as such it has a lot in common with some traditional isometric RPGs of yore. Too traditional for some - our Pathfinder: Kingmaker review found the game dry and overburdened by lore. This sequel does seem to be aiming to up the ante, and the scale, with what they’re calling “the Crusade system”. It’s a new strategic layer in which you will not only lead a party, but also recruit an army and send troops to do battle across the world map....
According to the game’s Steam page, Know By Heart is five hours long and tells a story with “non-linear elements” about Misha, who is stuck in a dead-end job but offered an escape from ennui by the return to town of his high school crush. This reunion is interwoven with “a brief but tumultuous episode of the town’s life”, in which “memories of the past and the very bonds between them become threatened....
Back in December, PAX organisers shared some prospective dates for this year, including PAX East in June. They said at the time that if Covid-19 remained a serious barrier to gathering safely they would choose to cancel or host the show online. As of today, they’ve officially made the choice. “In light of ongoing public health concerns, ReedPop and Penny Arcade will not hold PAX East this year,” they say....
For the uninitiated, ghost hunts in Phasmophobia pay out completed objectives with cash that you can use to buy additional ghost hunting gear with. The first objective is always to correctly identify the type of ghost haunting the location. Other three come from a random pool with options such as using a crucifix to stop a ghost from hunting you or taking a picture of the ghost itself. The absolute worst objective, without a doubt, is taking a picture of dirty water....

That means Robinson-Yu is planning on keeping his server live for only two weeks. As other tweets explain, this isn’t a battle royale mode. There are very few ways for players to interact with one another in A Short Hike, bar standing one each other’s heads, and some of the physics objects don’t like dealing with multiple people....
