Following its announcement way back at QuakeCon, The Ancient Gods got a full trailer and release date during this week’s Gamescom festivities. Survivors can avoid that fate by using power-ups to hop into vehicles, turn into inanimate objects, spawn weapons, and eventually escape (in UFO-like teleporters, judging from the trailer)....

Potion Craft is a delightfully physical take on crafting, in which you need to grind up ingredients, stir your cauldron, and pump the bellows to create each concoction. It also allows a lovely amount of customisation, letting you create your own labels and names for your brews when you save them to your trusty recipe book. That’s all before you get to the bartering bits (which are good) and the strategic adventure part of brewing (also good), both of which I hollered about more in February when I said it cured my crafting woes....
Season two is kicking off just a few days later than most folks had guessed. Previously, the in-game menu suggested that season one would wrap on October 5th. Those little set pieces where you’re not sure what it is your working towards until the last moment and then suddenly you see, with glee and excitement, what’s about to happen next… that stuff is proper magic....
