Our Favourite Indie Games From Egx 2022

Alongside those, the RPS gang were exploring the show floor and here you’ll find highlights of what we saw, who we chatted to, what we played, and just general show shenanigans. Enjoy! Rachel: I had a loop around my favourite part of EGX - The Leftfield Collection! There were a handful of games that have already been released like the wonderful Dorfromatik, Strange Horticulture, and Railbound but there were also plenty of new game demos....

Overwatch 2 S Mid Season Patch Delayed Due To Critical Issue

Blizzard announced late last month that they would be fiddling with hero balance ahead of the start of Overwatch 2’s season 2 in December. Just a few weeks earlier, they’d said they were confident there wasn’t a need for any rebalancing during season 1 of the game. We already know who’ll be the targets for the upcoming hero balance adjustments when the mid-season patch arrives tomorrow, and you can read more about those here....

Path Of Exile Has Brought Back Its Royale Mode For Weekends

POE:R fits up to 100 players on Royale Island in matches that GGG say take about 15 minutes at most. It’s a PvPvE setup, so you’ll be trying to kill both monsters and other players, beginning with your level one character and some starter gear. As with other battle royale ’em ups, the playable area shrinks over time with an encroaching storm that damages players stuck in it. If you manage to snag a win, GGG say you’ll unlock a Rhoa Feast decoration for your hideout which gets larger and more impressive the more victories you’ve clocked....

Platinum Games Project G G Will Have Big Kaiju

The teaser trailer below features one good boi, one transforming boy(?), and one very large monster that, at a glance, looks like the offspring of Godzilla and a Pokemon. What else do we know about it? Well, nothing. Even the name Project G.G. is apparently a work-in-progress. That’s it, aside from the trailer calling it “the powerful climax to the Hideki Kamiya superhero trilogy.” That could point to some sort of Viewtiful Joe spin-off, though Platinum specifically say that Project G....

Pubg S New Ranked Mode Is Open For Ladder Climbing

Ranked Mode seems to be giving a buff to the legitimacy of PUBG competitive play by making it distinct from unranked matches. Unlike the old Survival Title system, your rank will only be assessed during actual Ranked matches. Makes sense. You’ll be judged on your kill count, assists, and your personal placement in the match against 64 other players. Here’s some more of the nitty gritty for those wot are into it: Ranked matches can be played in first-person or third-person matches as teams of one, two, or three players....

Rainbow Six Siege S Next Operator Builds Nice Windows

In the trailer below, Osa uses her shield to block a window. It doesn’t cover the full thing, leaving a small gap in the top that people could shoot through. The shield itself is bullet proof, though it does look like it might be breakable after a lot of bullets have been thrown at it. Interestingly, Osa is an attacker. I would’ve thought an ability like this would’ve been part of a defender’s kit, but I suppose it makes sense if she can also wander around with the shield out to protect her squad....

Razer Have Just Unveiled The World S Maddest Gaming Chair

Razer have told me it’s likely still a few years away from completion at the moment, but the idea behind Project Brooklyn was to create a fully-fledged entertainment ‘powerhouse’ that wouldn’t look out of place in any part of your house. That’s because most of the time Project Brooklyn looks just like an ordinary gaming chair, not some colossal rotating chair mega rig like Acer’s terrifying Thronos contraption. Instead, it’s only when you sit down and press a special button that its 60in OLED display unfurls from the back of the chair, and its 4D armrests roll out to create its all-important keyboard table....

Ready Or Not Is Back On Steam After Being Removed For Alleged Trademark Infringement Devs Say

Let’s start at the beginning. In an update released on June 12th, New Zealand-based developers Void Interactive added a finished version of a night club map to Ready Or Not, among other changes. Then on June 16th, both the game and its store pages disappeared, meaning owners couldn’t continue playing it. Void Interactive announced that the game was offline that same day, but did not explain the reason for the removal, saying only that they were “looking into” it....

Red Faction Guerrilla Dev Has A New Destructive Game

Instruments Of Destruction will celebrate destruction by having players build and customise vehicles then careen into all manner of smashable sandboxes. Radiangames say it features an “advanced physics-based destruction system” that allows you to demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. Optional bonus challenges and objectives aim to add replayability, so you’re encouraged to get more creative with your mechanical monstrosities. There’s no denying it: Instruments Of Destruction looks similar to Besiege, another physics-based building game where you construct medieval siege engines....

Resident Evil Village Will Release In May Comes With Re Verse Multiplayer Game

The Showcase showed a new trailer (above) for Resident Evil Village, along with the first proper gameplay demonstration. It looks a lot like a first-person Resident Evil 4, just as I hoped it might. There’s a lot of creeping around a creepy small town, some inventory tetris, and a new crafting system. Resident Evil Village will be released on Steam and all other platforms on May 7th, 2021. A PlayStation 5 exclusive demo is available now, allowing players to wander about some environments without combat, but a fuller demo will be available on PC sometime in the spring....

On top of that, if you win a game (or just play three matches) you’ll unlock the Arcane Jayce skin, letting you run around as the hammer lad looking like a baby magical scientist.
