Halo Infinite Levels Won T Be Replayable At Launch But That Will Change

“The postgame does give you the option to keep exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two, where you’re not on the ring yet, you can’t replay from the same save file,” a Microsoft representative told Polygon. “You’d be able to get any remaining FOBs, targets, [and] audio logs, but the main story missions would not repeat.” So, if you want to dive back into the campaign with new difficulty settings or modifiers, you’ll need to start a fresh save....

Haunted Ps1 S Terrifying Eek3 Showcase Kicks Off Tonight

Following the expensive marketing barrage we’ve experienced over the past few weeks, tonight’s EEK3 showcase is promising an altogether more “grimey” event. A movement of sorts that’s sprung up over the last year, Haunted PS1 is a loose community of indie devs and hobbyists creating horror games rooted in the aesthetics of the 90s. Following in the footsteps of contemporary developers like Kitty Horrorshow and Paratopic developers Arbitrary Metric, Haunted PS1 previously showed off a slew of low-poly scares with the Haunted PS1 Demo Disk....

Have You Played A Normal Lost Phone

A Normal Lost Phone allows you to satisfy the secret snoop that’s hidden within all of us. At the start of the game you find a phone, and must pour through its files, emails and DMs to work out what happened to its owner Sam. It all plays out in a stylised phone OS, adding an extra layer of immersion as you do your sleuthing. Many of the phone’s folders and files are password protected but give hints that the keys to opening them can be found in another part of the phone....

Have You Played Dying Light

It’s the city, mostly. Harran has no business being so beautiful. It helps enormously that its fictional geography and architecture mark it as vaguely Turkish, with perhaps a hint of Brazil, rather than the universal video game city of Sigh New York Yet Again. Harran is lush, teeming with detail, and feels like it was probably untidy even before its localised apocalypse. Its inhabitants too are a great looking bunch....

Have You Played Exmortis

One night in ‘04, while I was googling away for ones I hadn’t played before, I came across Exmortis, which is, granted, kind of an escape the room game (more accurately an escape the lonely house in the woods game). It is also a very creepy horror game, which I was not entirely prepared for. It’s the first in a three part series by a guy called Ben Leffler. Exmortis was his first ever flash game, and I don’t know if he made more games beyond the Exmortis series, but he’d probably make a decent shake at a horror game today, if Exmortis is anything to go by....

Hearthstone Transfer Student All Effects With Different Game Boards

Transfer Student - all effects with different game boards Huge shoutout to u/deevee12 on Reddit for testing all the Transfer Students out! Remember, only boards currently in Standard format will be available while playing Standard. They’ll all be possible in Wild though. For example, you won’t be able to use the One Night In Karazhan effect in Standard because the expansion is not in the format so you won’t ever play on that board....

Here S Why Steamos Switched From Debian To Arch Linux

PC Gamer got the scoop on this. Valve designer Lawrence Yang told them: “So, Arch Linux, one of the main reasons - there’s a couple - but the main reason is the rolling updates of Arch allows us to have more rapid development for SteamOS 3.0. We were making a bunch of updates and changes to specifically make sure that things work well for Steam Deck, and Arch just ended up being a better choice for them....

Hideo Kojima Is Indeed Making A New Game Of Some Sort

“Yes, there is a game I have always wanted to make,” Kojima said near the end of the stream. “It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it. With Microsoft’s cutting edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept....

Hideo Kojima Quashes Rumours That Kojima Productions Were Bought By Sony

People then got excited, thinking this wordless tweet meant that Sony had acquired Kojima Productions. It caused enough of a fuss that Kojima did a follow-up tweet saying, hey, sorry, that hasn’t happened. “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, but Kojima Productions has been and will continue to be an independent studio,” said Kojima in the tweet. Death Stranding was funded by Sony and launched as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and more recently its Director’s Cut likewise launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive....

How A Would Be Priest Explores The Horror Of God In Videogames

“There was this kind of immense presence passing over me - the overwhelming terror that the sea was reaching out to devour me, each dark wave lurching closer and closer; or maybe it was the sensation of the sky looming over me, the clouds shifting and rapidly descending to crush me beneath their weight - and I felt completely immobilised.” On getting home that day, Yan picked up a Bible....

How Fighting Games Reimagine Action Comics

And yet, sometimes I think parser games would be better suited to adapt this genre to screen. When I think about cool comic fights, my mind goes to Shikamaru Nara. Shikamaru is one of the many characters of Naruto’s ensemble cast: a lazy, but brilliant ninja with the ability to control his own shadow. He can take control of his enemies and force them to mimic his own moves, but only if he manages to touch them with his shadow first....

How Marvel S Midnight Suns Lost The Race With The Mcu But Came Out All The Better For It

It’s a strategic evolution I’ll talk about in a second, but this switch-up in approach isn’t the only part of Midnight Suns story that’s been subject to the whims of (mis)fortune. No sooner had Firaxis announced the game it was delayed in the snap of Thanos’ fingers (from March to the second half of 2022, now confirmed as October 7th at tonight’s Summer Game Fest). But speaking to creative director Jake Solomon, the extra polishing time they set aside gave them an unexpected benefit....

How To Spot An Eclipse In Microsoft Flight Simulator

If you have the time it’s worth watching pro-photographer Eric Adams using Flight Sim’s cameras to plan out shots. He covers all the camera options that the game has, and I learned loads about the modes from his video. It’s also cool to see that a professional can use the simulation as a tool. He seems happy enough with its accuracy. To spot an eclipse, you’ll need to know when one will be, or when one has passed....

I Adore These Far Cry 5 Recreations Of Mundane Edinburgh Places

I first mentioned Mojo Swoptops in 2021 following their recreation of a long-demolished block of Edinburgh flats. As a big fan of weird mods and ephemera, choosing this to preserve was so interesting to me. And they do a great job of it, too. Since then, Mojo Swoptops have made squillions more Edinburgh nooks and landmarks. Look here, it’s night down the Cowgate, a popular row of nightclubs, on the corner of music venue Sneaky Pete’s (where I’ve seen a few gigs), just up from the sticky-floored stag & student hell of The Three Sisters (where I went once and quickly learned my lesson): Or hey, here’s the iconic ‘Banana Flats’ in Leith, which went from the childhood home of Trainspotting’s Sick Boy to a listed building: Or here, a council estate so generic that I feel I know the neighbourhood yet have four different places in mind: They make plenty of pretties too, mind....

Indie Horror Showcase Eek3 Returns This Friday

You may know Haunted PS1 from their demo disc releases that have bundled together tons of demos for neat indie horror games. Last year’s EEK3 featured the likes of Chasing Static and Signalis and more. The trailer for March’s demo disc right here will give you more of an idea the kind of things you’re in for. As for what’s coming this year, OKSoft creators of Coffin Mall (on Steam) say they’ll have a trailer in this year’s showcse for their atmospheric horror game about a mall cop being haunted by a murderous car....

Inscryption S Free Mini Expansion Makes The First Act Endless

Mullins says he’s received “countless requests for an endlessly playable version of Part 1 that emphasizes Leshy’s deckbuilding roguelike”, and I’m not surprised. While Inscryption is fab as a whole package, that first section is addictive. In his Inscryption review, Brendy calls it “a superbly designed card game” and a “beautifully cursed creation”. I couldn’t agree more. Each time you start a run in the expansion, you can select a number of challenges that will make it more difficult (like reducing your backpack space, or taking away the ability to reroll cards)....
