For context, Splitgate was downloaded by two million people when it’s beta first kicked off, delaying the game’s full launch after the sheer number of players trying to get in caused a bunch of server issues. Those have all been resolved now, and the game is still doing well - at the time of writing, it’s sitting at just under 70,000 concurrent players. In a press release, the devs explain they’ve continued working hard to increase server capacity and reduce player queue times, and have more improvements and upgrades on the way....

The big change for modders is that this patch migrates the game from XNA to MonoGame. Both are frameworks for making games, but XNA hasn’t been developed by Microsoft since 2013, and so the shift “futureproofs the game” in the words of the full patch notes. It also allows mods to access more than 4GB of RAM. Bug fixes aside, quality of life fixes make up the bulk of the rest of the patch....

It’s about exploring the sea and surviving underwater as much as on land, with an otherwise now-typical mix of animals to hunt, trees to chop and items and buildings to craft. It does have some great sharks, though. The leavers run the gamut, genre-wise, between co-op shooter (The Anacrusis), dog photography (Pupperazi) and arcade disc sport (Windjammers 2)....

Developers Second Dinner first announced Marvel Snap back in May, and it looked quite interesting. Second Dinner’s Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu are former senior developers on Hearthstone, so I wasn’t entirely surprised by that. For one thing, it’s a quick game to play. Matches are only set up to last for about three minutes. You’ll get to play in different locations from around the Marvel Universe, such as Thor’s home of Asgard and Black Panther’s kingdom of Wakanda, with new ones added weekly....

Thanks, I hate it. For those of you who are more horror inclined than I am, however, there are some details over on the Playstation blog. (The gameplay and release date reveal were a part of Sony’s definitely not E3 State of Play, but The Callisto Project is coming to PC, too.) Former Dead Space producer, now CEO of Striking Distance Studios, Glen Schofield, writes that The Callisto Protocol follows Jacob Lee, an inmate on a prison on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto, as he deals with an outbreak of mysterious plague that turns the guards and other inmates into dangerous creatures....

Art director Rex Crowle, known for Knights And Bikes and Tearaway, is doing a grand job judging by the new video. I think the visual style is a really good fit for Monkey Island. Fan favourite characters are back to join the returning Guybrush Threepwood and zombie pirate LeChuck, including Elaine Marley, the Voodoo Lady, Wally, Stan and, yay, Murray the Talking Skull. It even seems like you might get to play as Elaine this time around, and there’s plenty of swordfighting on display....
