It otherwise seems to be following a similar structure to a lot of other recent games. The tower contains 50 floors split into five areas. Each area has a shop where you can trade for skills and modifiers, and a boss fight to overcome before you advance....

Day Of The devs is orchestrated by Psychonauts developers Double Fine, along with production company Iam8bit. This poor man clearly got his head caught in a propeller and he just needs some help. Dutch film director Richard Raaphorst and fans like Twitterer “CloneKorp” (above) have pointed out multiple similarities between creatures in Frankenstein’s Army and Resident Evil Village. Though, the closest designs seem to be the ones of those of two rusty fidget spinner-looking lads. In the film, this propeller-headed monster attacks a group of soldiers who manage to cut the beast’s fuel wire which then causes it to explode....

Final Fantasy 7 is probably the best-known game in the series, the game which sold untold millions of PlayStations. It looked basically like real life! Or so my pal insisted. It tells the story of Cloud Strife, a supersoldier-turned-mercenary who joins up with a gang of eco-terrorists fighting a planet-destroying megacorp, and who refuses to admit that he likes anything or anyone even though he’s clearly a giant doofus softie baby....

The pixel remasters are Square Enix’s attempt to right a previous wrong. The old Final Fantasies previously available via Steam were ports of the ugly mobile versions. Those were pulled from sale earlier this year in preparation for the release of these more faithful ports, which maintain the original game’s sprites - hence the “pixel remaster” moniker. JRPG expert Katharine says that Final Fantasy IV is the best of the old Final Fantasies (aka the first six)....

Final Fantasy XIV has had historic problems with a lack of player housing, although those issues seem to mostly lie in its past. Either that or the housing shortage has been overshadowed by the broader problem of the game being so popular it was removed from sale, as it was earlier this year....

Having played an early preview, I can confirm that it’s loud, messy fun. I also don’t think I should have been allowed to play it....

Flashpoint isn’t the only launcher working to preserve Flash games, but it is an extensive one. The Flash Game Archive, Ruffle, and the Internet Archive all have projects looking to keep a long history of Flash games available to curious players. As of version 7.0 (it’s now on version 7.1) Flashpoint claim to have over 36,000 games available on their launcher and 2,300 Flash animations. That’s a huge hunk of my childhood as a dial-up internet kid looking for laughs online....

Forspoken is somehow both full and devoid of content. There is a huge open world, but it is mostly empty. There is an epic story of magic, other universes, and saving the world, but it only takes up a couple of days. I actually enjoyed a lot of Forspoken, but it gets more fun the more you play, and then it’s over; I didn’t pre-order this game for sixty odd quid, and if I had I’d be disappointed....

The latest development in Fortnite’s long, convoluted, constant map-shattering story saw Epic’s murder-island sink beneath the waves. Those floods arrived with some vicious new sealife, and Fortnite players have quickly discovered that sharks aren’t quite adhering to their ocean-bound nature (cheers, PC Gamer). The way Jaws erupts from the waves and ploughs through half a building to snap this poor bloke is absolutely terrifying. To see this content please enable targeting cookies....

The list of cars so far confirmed for Forza Horizon 5 might mean different things to you than it does to me, then. To me it means that the Jaguar XJ220 I had as a toy when I was 8 is in there, but maybe you have opinions about different kinds of Land Rover. Playground Games posted the list of confirmed cars earlier this week. After the Jaguar, the car I’m most excited about being included is probably the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker....

One of the biggies for update 2.2 is that it brings Aloy to us folks on PC. She’s been available to PlayStation players since last month but is now ready to join our parties too. She’s a five-star character that you can grab for free, which is quite a nice get, especially for folks like me who rarely attempt to unlock new characters with the gacha Wish system. You can unlock her from your in-game mail if you’ve reached at least Adventure Rank 20....

Running from now until August 4th, the Daedalic Humble Bundle is a great follow-up to the ongoing (and very Telltale-heavy) Summer Adventure Games bundle that’s running at the moment, and arguably contains more actual adventure games than said adventure games bundle. There’s also a welcome mix of strategy games in there, too, including the tactical time manipulation ’em up Iron Danger, sci-fi survival game CryoFall and the gruesome, arcane antics of Iratus: Lord Of The Dead....
