As our friends at Eurogamer discovered, cheating has become a real bugbear for Modern Warfare players. Platform-agnostic matchmaking is great and all, but it’s introducing our console-bound colleagues to a whole world of PC hacks and scripts. It’s not that consoles don’t have their own cheaters, but it’s a fair bit easier to pull off on home computers. Those platforms know exactly what hardware and software you’re using, which means they know when something’s not quite right....

Capcom plan to broadcast a new video dev diary about the update on Friday, July 3rd at 1pm (5am Pacific). While Capcom have said they have more Iceborne updates with new monsters planned beyond this, they haven’t yet announced details on any of them. Maybe we’ll hear more about the future beyond Alatreon on Friday too. Title Update 4 should be a bit less than once expected, mind. Not to smack talk the Switch, but there’s definitely still a whiff of the low-power handheld console about Rise’s visuals. While the demo is naturally limited to a single hunting ground, there’s nowhere in it that’s as richly detailed as the lands of Monster Hunter World. That said, Rise is quite aesthetically strong, which could be enough to carry it – especially since the PC demo includes what we can assume are the final version’s technical upgrades, including support for monitor resolutions up to 4K and the option to unlock the framerate....

Which, though, is the better buy? Both are 1080p-focused cards on sale for £300 or less, both sit at the bottom of their respective GPU hierarchies (the RTX 30 series and Radeon RX 6000 series), and both support ray tracing, so let’s break out the bar chart app and do some comparisons. Only one, of course, can be deserving of a spot on our best graphics cards list. But I can’t. Sorry. While I am a sucker for go-faster gear, the RTX 3090 Ti is just too far of a stretch, with its sometimes imperceptible performance differences to the £1399 RTX 3090 and a tendency towards impractically gigantic partner card models. I’ll say this for the RTX 3090 Ti, though: it’s not hard to find in stock, even if you can probably guess why. That £1879 starting price gets you Nvidia’s own Founders Edition ($2000 in the States), and the customised Zotac GeForce RTX 3090 Ti AMP Extreme Holo that I’ve been testing is just a snip more at £1899 / $2084....

Commissioned by Nvidia and mine-crafted by competitive builder Ushio Tokura, the snowy, glowy wonderland is obviously intended to show off ray tracing capabilities of Nvidia’s best graphics cards. Naturally, Elden Ring has been a constant presence in the RPS Treehouse these past few months, but FromSoft’s high fantasy epic is far from the only thing that’s been living in our minds and thumbs rent-free recently. If this all sounds a bit familiar, it’s probably because it was leaked back in April. The name Echoes Of The Eye popped up in Outer Wilds’ Steam records, and Annapurna did a cheeky tweet with nothing but an eye emoji raising suspicions. Now it’s all confirmed, though we still know about as much as we did back when it first leaked. The trailer is, as creative director Alex Beachum called it during the stream, rather cryptic....

For the past two years, I have confused the name Outer Wilds with The Outer Worlds. I will say one space game’s name when I mean the other. I will expand one name into ‘The Outer Wilds’ and trim the other to ‘Outer Worlds’. I will trip and combined the two into ‘Outer Woilds’. I hate this. There are huge tentacle slams, massive lightning explosions, and various projectiles to dodge. In particular, you need to look out for the floating grey balls that drift around the arena. Touching one of these will heavily slow you. Stand inside them for too long, and you will instantly die....

As far as photos go, immediately after I snapped this one all of the lights in this cell block shut off around me. Obviously I immediately quit the game after that, so this is the best picture you’re going to get out of me until you go try it out yourself. I’m sure you understand. I did notice while creeping around the new map that it was difficult to locate the lights—intentionally, I’m sure....
